Wow! It is great to see the work that you are doing. You are doing a great job. I have enjoyed following your progress. I have been learning many pointers to help me with my project.
I also like to see your whitetail antlers. You have some good looking racks. I would enjoy hunting whitetails some day when I have some time and money for it. I live in mule deer country and love to go out for them.

Yes bow season is rapidly approaching here, I fear it may slow down my project........

It appears you have your priorities all messed up......................I couldn't stay in the woods last year because my project was getting close but this year mine is DONE so it won't slow me down one bit. Looking forward to some bow hunting too.

My first RR. This is the car I had as a senior in high school and later started drag racing. I believe this is about 88. Stage 2 of it racing life with new fiberglass body parts, bigger 12.5 /30 slicks a 3800 convertor. It went 7.80's with the 383 in the 1/8 with 4:30 gears. Later got to the 7.60s with 4 link & mild 440.

Here's a picture of the car I sold. I had this car as a daily driver while i was building the Blue car. I did have it blue at the time so I had twins. This car had a 440 and narrowed 8 3/4 when street driven. I sold it to buy a pickup to pull the race car. He returned it to the original color and put a tube chassis under it. It went 5.70's, back in the early 90's that was haulin a$$.2014-09-02%2023.49.12[1].jpg

The reason my fall progress might slow down!!!!! It's getting close to season boys & girls!!!!! 27 days til season opens.:elmer:

Picked uo some small block B body torsion bars today.

Remind me what the benefit to doing that is plz. Where did you get them, and/or do you know where to get the best deal on them?

The smaller the bars the looser the front end, the more front end travel you can get, more weight transfer. With the cal tracs you want to have 5" of front end travel. So I'm told.

I had slant 6 bars in my street car with 90/10s and it hooked great.

The guys at Welter Auto body getting it done on the GTX. I love the stock look on the mini tubs!!!!DSC01928.jpgDSC01929.jpgDSC01930.jpgDSC01931.jpg

I would love to have half the skills some of these guys have, and its good to know they do if they have your car! looking real nice!!!

Stopped by for a look Friday, it's coming along great. They were a little concerned about the fit of the taillight housings. I told them all the AMD stuff is poor fitting and they just have to make them fit. After showing them some pictures of others on here they got it.

I also decided to go with the filled seam under the rear window. More strength and I like that look better.

AMD Too

I had to use a unibit (step bit) to open up the stud holes a little bit. always a little tweaking on the AMD parts, BUT just proud to have replacement parts.
pt in Tennessee
68 RR

I would be one nervous guy I hope they get these to line up an work right!!! It sure has looked good so far! It kind of surprises me a little and some what scares me with AMD not fitting to good! Ive only worked with there frame rails and spring perches but have had real good fitting results.. so far. :)
