Measure, cut, place, and weld.. Yep sounds right and looks good! :)

She is looking good, and you are making good time. I am envious of those mini tubs!

Are you moving the springs in on it to??

-Mark

Yes 69, springs going in. I bought -1" Cal Tracs for it with offset hangers and shackles. That'll be next
after the tubs. Hope to get at least 1 tub done Sunday.

Yes sir, I have the same issues. The bondo bucket is used here to fill in those areas. Your body shop shop will get that corrected.

I'm thinking I will build it up with weld to get it close. I got one tub welded togeter and ready to go in and ran out of welding gas so to the weld store I go tonight. The trip with the better half is this week so don't know how much I'll get done till the following weekend. Aug 1st will be here fast!

Back from vacation yesterday and got the left wheel tub welded in Looks pretty good. Time to start on the right side! Hope to have all the tin work done this weekend. My body guy John text me and said he's ready for the car any time. Can't wait!!!!!

......this stuff is a science and an art. It amazes me how the factory fit & finish was so off on some the panels. Incredible work my friend.

I have been talking with IQ52 (Jim & Codi I think) on doing a top end for my GTX. I told him I wanted just a hint of lope at idle, pump gas, lots of torque and be able to run the 1/4 in 11.50 in street trim. Alum heads and full hyd roller set up. Can't wait!!!!!

Rock N' Roll! I bet you can't wait.... All that power, it's gonna take an act of congress to coax you out of the car.

Sweet, metal work is coming along nicely. Looks great

I had to tweak the trunk hinge brackets as it was to narrow by about 7/8 of a inch. So the flattened brackets I was going to use can canned. I cut out the recess in the middle and it gave me enough to get it back where it needs to be.

I also ordered the wheel lip moldings made by Metro, big mistake, fit like crap! They didn't even look the same left to right.

Guess I'll keep watching for some OEM ones....

Well hope to get the speaker patches welded in tomorrow. Got the paint blasted off of them. Next offset front spring hangers.

Thanks for update on wheel well moldings. I still need them for my 69 GTX ..They didn't look good. I bet Metro sends them to someone else now? I thought they had the better stuff?

I will be calling Jim's today they advertise "better fitting" wheel lip moldings. I'm going to propose if they don't fit like you say, they pay all the shipping round trip. This set cost me 25 in shipping, although if I'd bought them from Classic it'd been closer to 60!

Thought I hit the jack pot, Jim's told me they would fit, shipping guarenteed. Got all done with shipping info then they said oh yeah these are full RR moldings, Dammit people why do you advertise something you don't have! She said just cut them down........ This isn't a Gas Monkey project that I'm just scabbing together here, I want it right, the first time. Ok I'm done ranting..............for now.

Took the day off yesterday to work on the car. got the spare tire & gas tank brackets on. Offset springhangers, POR-15 on the inside floor. I had to back up a little, wish I would have dehumped my wheel housing, so doing it the hard way now. Oh well bite the bullet and get it done. Pictures tonight.

"just cut them down......."....WTF!!!!!

That wouldn't be a problem if they are stainless or aluminum. But if they're plated they can't be buffed out where they are "cut down". Also if I'm going to put that much effort into them why not just get some OEM's to clean up.
