A/C is over rated...

P.S. that sucks that nothing lines up.

G, I called classic air they hooked me up with the correct bracket for the compressor. 120$ will save me lots of grief! I've talked to them twice now and the have been very speedy & helpful. A+ on customer service so far!
Derwud, sorry I'm old school, serpentine just doesn't look right to me on a 440. Maybe I'll be back at it this weekend (Sunday).
Going to the big car show at Clear Lake IA. this weekend. Cruise on Fri. night usually has 4-500 cars and last about 2 hours through town. Got a camping spot along the route so I can watch them all.

The Offer complete V-Belt kits as well. I Just don't ever want to hear Belt squeal again!!

Let me ask a dumb question? Is there 4 inches of clearance between the Water Pump pulley and radiator core support?

Good to hear Classic Air is taking care of you.
I would like to go down to Clear Lake too. Last year we went to a concert at the Surf, it was Saturday night after the car show. There were a lot of nice rigs cruising around still.
Have a tractor pull on Saturday.

G let me know if you're coming.
Derwud I will measure tomorrow. If I had to guess I would say so.

69 GTX, I have a question. If your car is set up for a 26" radiator could you post a pic of the right side radiator support? Both my replacement and the original are set for a 22" radiator and I have to figure out how to modify mine to work with my new 26" aluminum radiator.
Much appreciated :)

Mine is also a 22" car. That's why I made these adapt plates.

I had extras made if you're interested.

Wow, that is pretty slick. I will let you know, I found new right side pieces which I will probably just buy.

Not even close. I have next week off so I hope to get a lot done. This pulley and bracket deal is dragging me down. Should have been a weekend job that's taking a month now to get figured out.... But still forging ahead! Went to the big cruise/show at Clear Lake IA. over the weekend. some really nice cars there. Not enough mopars though. Perfect weather sunny & 75

Well things are finally starting to go my way. I got the AC bracket from Classic air. I mocked up the compressor and looks good!

I may rotate the compressor so the lines are on the drivers side. We'll see when I get to the point of putting on hoses. The bracket did have a hole that didn't line up, but I believe it's the Moroso pump that's at fault here as other brackets showed the same misalignment

.
It will be a easy fix, I'll just put it in the mill and make it a slot. I also got my ProMax fuel lines. I'm going to have a wrench made to remove the bowl fittings today. I'll post a picture once it's installed. This will make jetting changes a little easier! Looking forward Saturday when I start my vacation as I'm spending the majority of it in the garage working on the GTX!

It looks like the AC is coming together. What does the rest of the pre-flight check list look like?

Empty.... I would like to be able to fire the engine at the end of next week. Even though I won't have any wiring done. I would just like to hear it run again. So in order for that to happen I need to get the hoses and belts on, fuel system plumbed, exhaust run to the back, O2 sensors welded in, back Bumper on, and recheck all suspension hardware for torque. Also need to get another set of plug wires, some were cut to short and need to be rerouted. Sounds like a short list but if I get all that done I'll be very happy. I have a feeling UPS will be seeing me every day next week. :welcome:

Made some wrenches to tighten the fitting in the fuel bowls on the middle and rear carb

I pulled the trigger and ordered the Rev a Nator ignition system. Deciding factor was, being able to get a replacement box at any parts store to get me going again. That and the 3 year warranty sold me. Plus it looks era correct. Last thing I wanted was being dead in the water and having to overnight ship a MSD box somewhere. Should be here tomorrow.

I had to rework my wrenches, to much material around hex, revision B up next!
