It does look closer than it really is.

Looking good how much longer Til your tearing up the street? I've got a long way to go as well but I'm content to pop open a beer and start the engine every once in awhile haha

That's my next goal! To hear it run. I'm thinking a month or so till that. Hope to be have it drivable by this fall, but we'll see. Everything just takes so much time. I still need a driveshaft made, fuel tank & lines finished, and radiator. Then should be ready to fire. I think I'm going to burn 1 of my weeks of vacation to help it along.....

Taking the better half on vacation this week so that'll kill this week.

Thanks guys! I'm back. Sadly I lost the camera on Mackinac Island so lost most my pictures dammit! Came back to a pile of work at work so OT this week. I'm trying to stock pile a lot of parts as I'm going to use my week of vacation to work on the car. In a week or 2. I did fiddle a little more with the radiator and brackets. almost have that all figured out.

2 nice cars at the car show yesterday. B5 4spds 69RR & 68 GTX

Yeah those 2 cars helped me to stay motivated. My GTX is B5 also so gave me a good visual!

Unfortunately I worked a lot of OT this last week so not much progress on the car. Only thing I got done was to blast & paint the fan......

Thanks Goon. I gotta send back my alt. Had a dumb attack and ordered a single groove instead of dual. :BangHead:

Well got some work done yesterday! My first day off since the 4th. I got my brackets finished up for installing the 26" Griffin radiator on the 22" support. turned out well I think. I ended up with .800 (11/16) clearance between the fan clutch and radiator.

Hung the condenser to see what I had to do for brackets. Then pulled everything back off for black paint. There is more details on my thread 26" in a 22" opening in the cooling section.

Used a piece of all thread to mock up my torque strap. Going to use some 1/2" 4140 and turn it down for 3/8-18 threads on both ends. All thread looks looks to cheesy, like Gas Monkey did it.....

I may get a repop made of the fender tag with the A12 code in there just to see how many people catch it :D

I gotta give a shout out to Summit racing. I ordered a alternator with the wrong pulley, so I had to return in. They send a return label with the invoice so just slapped it on the original shipping box and dropped it at the USPS. I didn't get charged for return shipping or the new part. This my friends is great customer service! It took a little longer through US mail but I was busy and didn't mind. Sent the wrong one back the 13th, right one arrives tomorrow.

I typically am the guy that doesn't mind paying a little more to deal with a smaller specialty type business with the hope being that I will receive better customer service. Summit Racing is not a small mom and pop type business by any means, but you would never know it in regards to their customer service. They are great to deal with when an issue crops up.
I had something similar happen a few months ago. I spoke to someone on the phone and they told me to set the part, preferably in the box it came in, out on my front porch and the UPS man will just stop by and get it. I didn't even have to put a label on it, Summit took cared of all the logistics. I received the replacement on my front porch 2 days later, no charge.
Like I said, they are great to deal with. This is why I pretty much always order from Summit if it is available.

Well I dropped off the PS pulley & brackets, AC brackets, Alt. brackets, fan, & misc brackets last night for paint. Hope to have everything back for the weekend to put together. I'm sure everything will go right on and all line up perfect. NOT! Oh well I can always hope.

Well I did some work over the weekend. I got the new PS pump bolted in. Had to shim it a bit to get it square to the crank pulley. I noticed I was missing the top bracket for the alt. I then checked my waterpump pulley against the crank pulley, hmmmm doesn't look right. About .120 to far forward. This made me scratch my head. So where's the problem. Well I came to the conclusion it must be in the aftermarket dampener. So working on making a shim to space it out. So next I might as well try the AC bracket. Well at least it was consistent with the rest of the day. The bracket has the compressor using the front two pulleys and I need it to use the rear two. In the position they want it, it also interferes with the fan.

So I didn't get a whole lot accomplished. Looks like some more bracket fab work. I may call Classic & Vintage to see what the offer for replacement stuff for a car that already has AC. May save me some engineering time.
