So the old bearing had 2 holes, new one 3. S I marked and drilled 2 new holes for the self tappers.

So I installed the shift tube and didn't like how sloppy it was at the bottom. So I made a plastic bushing to help that.

Much better, now just pull it back apart to paint the shift tube. BTW the bushing is 1.315 ID 1.420 od.

So I crimped, soildered, and heat shrinked the extention I made for the rear lighting harness. This was due to the mini tubs I installed. Made the harness about 6" short.

Nice job! :)

Painting the needles is not "dangerous"? Does it not add too much wait on them? I am approximately at the same point with my gauges and I was wondering if I should repaint the needles or if it will be too heavy on them...

I can't think it would add any significant weight as the needle isn't even at a 45 degree. Besides if you notice the arms on both sides can be adjusted if it does. I'm also running aftermarket coolant temp, oil pressure, and tranny temp. So if the dash gauges aren't 100% on mine it's not a big deal. I did calibrate my sending pickup so my fuel gauge read accurate at 1/2 & 1/4 as those are the 2 important increments before you run out of gas.

It was nice to get in the shop Sunday and work on the car. Been 3 weeks straight working 10s & Saturdays so shop time has been scarce.

So I have a question for you guys. If you look there's a empty spot above the right turn signal indicator for a light of some sort. I'm wondering what would have been there. Here is what I'm thinking about doing. I'd like to put a on light, for my gear vendor overdrive there. I'd like to find a switch to use where the convertible top/rear defroster switch went as a option. So if you know of a speedo with this window for the light let me know. I looked in my manual but they didn't show anything.

They make a specific gauge needle paint which is brushed on and makes no mention of the paint weight so I doubt it has a noticeable effect...maybe on the speedo needle as it is much longer than the others.

Service manual shows nothing there. On the circuit board it is cut for a light that ties into the other dash lights.

Mark I thought it was tied to the pin at 11 o'clock at the back. I could still bypass that with a led light. Was just looking to see if anyone has everything seen a speedo plate with a light there.

Also looking for a set of defroster vents.

You're right. I was looking at the grou ds for the lights tied into it. But the 11 o'clock pin is vacant in the service manual (no wire).

Ok thank you for your help, so tonight when I'll go back home I will paint those needles ;)

Thanks for the input! ;)

Thanks Kid. Do they match up to the OEMs close?
