One area left to do for now. The other areas will be done after the car is painted. The drivers side trunk floor, frame rail and trunk extension. I didn't coat the trunk extensions all the way to the bottom because I still have to weld the rear quarter panels to them. The last picture is the before picture, it cleaned up nicely!

After days of sanding the entire underside of this car, myhands have had enough for a while and once they are cleaned up, a few Budweiser's will cool them down! The drivers side trunk extension coated! That's all for today! Not a bad day in the garage!

A picture of the rust free Bronze Charger door I got at Carlisle. I have to make a template from the original door to drill the holes for the R/T door scoop. The purple drivers side door already has the scoop mounting holes drilled because it came from another Charger R/T.

This girl ain't no poser, she's got pedigree! She's from a proper family of long standing Mopar muscle cars, built during the peak of Mopar supremacy in one of the most obnoxious colors once deemed statutory grape! Plum Crazy Purple! A fitting specimen to build a tribute to the most controversial wingcar ever built!

I got the drivers side door out on the stand,I tipped it up and all this dirt and pine needles came out of the pinch seam at the bottom which happens to be completely rust free,so I got a scraper and a rubber mallet and scraped and knocked all the dirt and debris out of it,that is what makes the doors rust at the bottom and the corners then vacuumed it all out with a shop vac. I did the same thing to the bronze door which is also rust free at the pinch seam. Then I scuffed the inner area so I can paint it black, because the door originally came from a plum crazy purple 70 Charger R/T with a white interior.

Interior section of the drivers side door painted black. Right now on Moparts is a pair of 70 Charger R/T doors in the same condition as these doors for $2350.00. They are power window doors, but other than that they are no better than the pair I have here, and I paid $200 for the passengers side and $25.00 for the drivers side! I am very pleased with these doors.

So I put on some Bad Company and Jethro Tull and got some chrome polish and polished the vent window frames and was extremely pleased with the results. The purple drivers side door vent window frame cleaned up amazing, no pits,I would call it 95 percent! The passenger's side looked bad,but just had some sticky grime on it, I would call it 80 percent good! Both do not need to be replaced and are quite usable as is. I am extremely pleased with these doors!
Man you got a heck of a deal with your doors!

It’s because you had the right music going, car was enjoying it too. The car was going, I remember these songs, I remember the good times I had while they were playing, I’m going to get rebuilt and enjoy them again, let’s go!

We were rockin out! I polished out them vent window frames and they look good!

I went up to work on cleaning up the loft, and I found the other SSBC brake kit,the 4 speed pedals, and two upper control arms with new bushings and ball joints already in them. I found a pair of 73/74 spindles and calipers. I run them on every Mopar so I can run the cheaper and more easily available 73/74 unicast rotors than the 70 to 72 two.piece rotors.

Can I ask why you didn’t strip the doors all the way down since your going to great lengths on this car? Im an X body man and all the cars I did for customers or myself I always took all the way down.

Right now I am mocking everything up. I need to align the fenders, hood, nose, and doors,so I can get the gaps right,so I can align the rear quarters and weld them on. Then I will blow it back apart, blast the jambs and engine bay, then prime and paint them.
