'70 Charger - Thoughts on installing Fuel Line Check Valve to help reducing starting turns

@dadsbee and I both don't have much problem at all with starting, even after sitting a week or two. If my car sits for months I simply use a small squeeze bottle with a curved neck and manually fill the driver's side bowl with a few ounces until I can physically see fuel coming from the discharge nozzles during manually throttling the carb. It then starts like I used it the day before.

Holy Toledo, after lubricating the choke linkages and let sit for an hour, heard ignition on the second turn and it started on the 3 crank in February!!!! Wow I can't believe it. Normally I'm struggling in the winter.

I noticed my air cleaner is really dirty too. Thanks guys!!! I ordered and new air cleaner and will see what it does next time to see if it works twice in a row.

By the way, for understanding when cold, after it starts, it revs quite high. Is it supposed to calm down after warm? I normally tap the pedal for it to lower RPM. Sometimes I have to go under the hood a move the linkage with my finger to lower RPM. Seems like something is sticking

Great!

Remember when it is really cold, floor the pedal and release before starting. This will close the choke to its max choke assuming it is adjusted right. Otherwise it will be partially open and may require more cranking.

Also, the cold idle is supposed to be high. If it's too high, it can be adjusted with a set screw just like the regular idle to move it to a lower step on the bracket. And yes, after it warms up is is supposed to drop down to the lower idle step when you step on/off the gas. It's really common for all this this to be maladjusted when a car is rebuilt. It just takes some tinkering to dial it in.
