Got a question/observation. I took this car in for Media Blasting, I've been prepping it for the last day or two, you know getting the undercoating off, clean all the crap out of it, you'd be amazed what falls out of these cars when you tip 'em over on the Rotisserie. It's a Vitamin C orange color (I think), and was wondering if the factory ever used Bondo or a filler before applying the paint? I've found some bondo underneath the (what appears to be) original color. Also, the undercoating for 1970 seems to be of a better quality than the earlier models; this stuff is oil based and is like the Mustang undercoating used by Ford. And, on this car the factory really lathered it on! So, as this is different than the 68 and 69 versions of undercoating, just letting ya all know that this stuff is dreadfully good, but, unevenly applied.

the seam sealer looks kind of like bondo on my 70 as well.. real thick and white and up to 1/2" thick in some spot...LOL

Im not an expert but id imagine if there were to be some imperfections that they would. I wouldn't think it would be in a amount of any great size though. so another panel wouldn't be needed. Just a best guess at why..

dings happen at the factory and they do mud them yes
