Well, the customer came over today, payed his Nov (and remaining Oct) Invoices, and pulled the plug on his project! He was nice about it, he just is running out of $$, and wants to save some to get married with. I understand, these things happen. However, the new metal is flying on, got the left qtr hung CORRECTLY in just about 3 hrs! Nothing's welding in...yet, just tons of sheetmetal screws. We talked about his plan, he has no plan, probably won't get back to his car in a year or so; sad, I really wanted to finish it! Oh well.
Going to finish screwing it together tightly, build him a smaller dolly like the one I built for this car, and transport it back to him. Also, going to set up a Contract Termination agreement indemnifying me from everything and anything on this car; as it's not done, there are tons of loose ends needing tying up -- I told him to get a loan for 3K or so to finish with me, well, guess that ain't happening!
On a good note, the qtr fit almost perfectly; lesson learned and lesson to share; prep and clean the mounting/joining areas 100% so nothing interferes with the assembly of the qtr. I actually thought I would have to fight the qtr to get it in/on, but, it slipped right on and in place perfectly in the new rocker panel, and lined up with the fender wheelhouses, I was and remain impressed!
I will post up some final pics of this car in the next few days, maybe in a year or so he'll be back to resume, but, the question is will I be available in the future to do this kind of work? Thanks all for not giving me too much grief for this GM car on our MOPAR forum, now, getting back to my B Body's!
