Boy, everything thing you do from this viewpoint looks great. Good to see someone doing great work, keep it up and enjoy when you finally get it on the road! How few '70 wagons are left? Way to save it!
Sorry I haven't posted any updates in a while. My engine is together and I am just waiting to get it dyno'd for tuning and break in before bringing home. My brother has been really busy at the engine shop due to it being race season so it's been sitting for a while now.
In the meantime, I've basically finished putting the interior back in with the exception of the headliner. I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to tackle that since the original was a formed fiber board that isn't reproduced to my knowledge. Thinking now of converting it to fabric utilizing the bows I have from donor two door car.
I also got the belt line seal issue resolved for the tailgate glass. Took me a while to find a seal I could mount that would cover the large gap between sheet metal and glass. Sound system is installed and sounds good enough for now. Needs more bass, but I'm putting off the purchase of a powered subwoofer for a while.
So once I can get engine home I should be able to to get it installed with tranny and exhaust fairly quickly, I hope. I wanted it to be on the road by now, but that's how it goes I guess. I'll post more pics of finished interior when I get a chance.
Thanks tallhair for the interest.
Smart man! Worth the time and cost to eliminate any problems or leaks prior to putting into your car....My brother helped me get the engine dyno'd and tuned this weekend. I'm very happy with the results and excited to get it painted and home for install.

Now that I'm back from my Cancun family vacation, here's some pictures of the wagon in its current state.
Tailgate is rebuilt and hung. Glass motor works from both key switch on gate as well as dash switch.

Here's a few pics with both seats installed.

I also had to clean and repair/paint the headrests. Can't really fix the "chrome" finish on plastic trim pieces, but this should be sufficient for my driver for now. Before and after pics of one of them.

I'll keep tinkering with the small items until the engine is ready to come home.
