70 Hemi Superbird Restoration..................errr.....scratch that........

I remade the driver's side A pillar bar tonight. This is an extremely difficult bar for my feeble mind to figure out. I got it on the second attempt. Hopefully, I can knock the passenger side out on the first try.

Planning pays off. The fit around the driver's fresh air vent is awesome. The forward engine bay bar will get a little wrinkle to clear the body of the vent as well.

Nice fit, sure beats those universal cages. Looking great!

I'm trying to tuck the cage as close to the body as possible. I went to test the fit with the plastic pillar trim and can't find it anywhere. I found three for the passenger side and none for the driver side. Figures.

The seat showed up so I can add the seat bars and mounts.

Once the seat is located, I can put in the harness mounting tabs. Once all this is done, I will finally be able to put the floors back in. The seat mounts will raise it up some. Too low here.

I ended up raising it some but it still gives plenty of room around the helmet and good visibility down over the dash and hood.

Nice job man, I love following this thread and living my dreams through someone else's eyes,,,,,,, and wallet lol

So........I wasted 3 hours tig welding the roof bars in the car.......contorting my old body in ways never intended only to realize that it will still come out of the car! Doh!!!

Only thing left to do is finish up a couple of welds (ran out of argon) ,add the parachute lever mount in the roof bars, then add the seat mount and harness mounts.

Got the parts in for adding the chute lever and also a lever for actuatong dual fire bottles just in case the SHTF!

The two levers are Carbon Fiber and weigh nearly nothing. The tabs are all laser cut steel.

Here's what the fire bottle handle will look like. It mounts on the main funny car cage bar.

The fire bottles will mount on the rear hoop.
