70 Hemi Superbird Restoration..................errr.....scratch that........

So I'm getting back on this from the Mustang that stole nearly two months of my time and I thought that getting the control Arms done would be the place to start. That involved building a fixture. I probably could have built them freehand but I thought the fixture might keep the frustration facture down and eleminate any chance for error.

I used the original lower control arm, some misc frost plugs and a bunch of scrap steel. Seems to have worked out. It didn't have to be super robust nor idiot proof as I'm only building two arms with it.

You can see it was seat of the pants engineered and built on the fly!

I also spent some time cutting and bending the tubing for them as well.

I followed that up with plenty of fitting work to get the new parts into the fixture and fitting tight enough to TIG weld.

The next step is to get the lower shock mount "basket" folded up and fit in prior to welding. I have to finish the punch and die setup that will be used in the press to fold it up. Die is done just need the punch.

by the seat of your pants, sure whatever you say......i say it looks outstanding. looks strong and beefy to me for a twin turbo hemi
hemi.

I'm going to run 15x12" wheels on the rear with double bead locks. I don't have them yet cuz I need to sell a couple children or something to afford them.
