I have a file cabinet drawer full of receipts, but I don't keep track, I don't want to know.
Same here. Not gonna add it up. I just keep in mind the thousands of hours that I’m not going to have to pay someone else for and consider that a big win.I have a file cabinet drawer full of receipts, but I don't keep track, I don't want to know.
Just for giggles, I threw together an estimate for just the engine as it will sit on the engine dyno and.....Same here. Not gonna add it up. I just keep in mind the thousands of hours that I’m not going to have to pay someone else for and consider that a big win.
It’s just a tick under $40K in just parts. No labor and no machine work and I’m sure there’s as much as 2k worth of misc stuff I’m overlooking like header flanges I had cut, misc hardware, and fabrication materials, etc. I suppose it’d be $60K+ to have someone build and dyno this thing if I were just a check writer. Keep in mind that I started collecting parts for this in 2010, so it’s roughly $5K year in parts, lol.Nice. Wish that motor was mine. I wouldn’t want to guess how much into it.
Haven’t addressed it yet. I’ve been sidetracked lately...How’d that upper radiator tube turn out?
I’m too big to be playing twister in this little car, lol, but it’s been fun. It’s good welding practice. Had to use the “thighmaster” position for the pedal in this one.Looks like your training for a twister tournament! Creative way to use the pedal.
Cold side nearly done. Need to shorten the outside fuel rail so the fitting clearsthe wiper motor and then make fuel rail hold down clamps. The blow off valves finally showed up after being on backorder from Precision. I mounted the first one.

Thanks! I still need to build the catch can assembly and work out the serpentine belt drive. Once all that is done, final assembly of the engine, then engine dyno. Can’t wait for that!Looks very clean and neat so far!

Yeah that’s the understatement of the year, lol. After finishing this Mustang, I’ve got another one lined up that wants to have a carbon fiber nose and twin turbos mounted... it never ends!Holy Moly you have been busy!!!
It looks amazing.
You have managed to merge 3 of my favorite things. Hemi, Turbos, and Superbirds hahaha
Thanks! It was honed, line honed, decked, and the lifter bushings honed. It’s ready for that Crower crank to show up. Next up is o-ringing the valve covers, oil pan and the intake faces of the heads. Shooting to have the only gaskets on the whole engine be the head gaskets.Very nice!
