What's it Worth 70 v 68/69 pricing?

It really comes down to personal preference. I've had a 69 & a 70 triple-black R/T, yet my personal favorite has always been a 68. Each has a unique character, and you can never go wrong on any. It's like a choice between Raquel Welch, Barbara Eden, or Sophia Loren.

Thank you. What do you know about that guy? lol Thanks for the response.

The one you posted earlier 727 torque flight with stall converter? Really looking for a 4 spd. Here's what my lack of knowledge is. What does a stall converter do? Launch control?

It allows the engine to rev up into its power range before locking up, so to speak. The main function is launching harder out of the hole.

Ok. I knew it was something to that degree. And thanks for checking! Good luck setting her up with the next lucky caretaker.

Exactly! 68 tail lights are my favorite as well! All are cool. But the double rounds are most eye catching. My opinion.

Based solely on my biases, the correct order is:

1970 Dodge Charger Daytona
1969 Dodge Charger 500
1968 Dodge Charger R/T
1970 Dodge Charger R/T
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1970 Dodge Charger 500, 383 Magnum 4 speed

Oh snap, you said a budget of $50k. You have a better chance with the 1971-1972 performance models of the B-body.
Well, If you hurry up, the prices are moving to the moon also. The younger generation is more into the 3rd generation, the more sporty round slick streamlined body lines. Dukes of Hazard? Never heard of. Pistol grip? Just like holding a d&ck. Manual speed? The kick down is more of a kick.

I’d say you can get what you want for 50-60k depending on what, if any, issues you’d accept. There was a nice blue 70 for 60k in ga not long ago. Guy sells on YouTube and has many cars. For example.

I had a 68 383 4 speed car in the early 2000s. I saw something years later saying only about 1200 383 three pedal cars were built! It was cloned to an rt and only the vin told the tale. Even had the Dana. Drove the absolute crap out of that car. Sold it to a guy in Canada for 13,500. Boy that looks dumb now. But I did get a cherished 71 cuda with the money so it was worth it to me.

That was very well said! 70 is my favorite but I love them all.

I have one 68,two 69s and four 70 Chargers. I prefer the 70 as my personal favorite, but everyone should have one of each year. I have also added 71 Charger R/Ts to the stable!

Thank you! Looks mad!

I am building a 70 in the best colour they ever made
Picked up another 69 last week for a future project

If you want a second generation Charger I do not think you can go wrong with any of them

Think your bigger problem will be to find one in your budget period

Just be careful as there is a steep learning curve of what good looks like vs what good is and that part can be an expensive lesson

This one's for sale...only asking $32,000 :fool:
Looks like it was pulled out of a canal
Base Charger but has R/T badges XP29 car. Is a 383 4 speed car so there's that going for it
i have owned my 69 since 1970, when i bought it as a "total" while working at a body shop [1968-1972] for $500.00. it had been hit HARD in the rear, shoving the tail lights almost to the rear window. being the complete IDIOT i am, i never took any pictures ! :realcrazy:
i can't understand the seemingly unending upward price trend over the last 10 years or so !
i'm in the process of upping the insurance on my car from 38.5k to around 58k or so............and to think, when the car was finally repaired in very late 1971 or early 1972, i had $1269.31 invested in it, including a new set of keystone 5 spoke wheels and formula 1 super stock tires !

At 58 k you maybe undervaluing your car I would be careful just to prevent shooting yourself in the foot if the unthinkable happens ... junk ones sell for a lot now ... be careful

I couldn’t have put it in better words. I know, ‘what you don’t know, you don’t know’ is a dangerous place to be in this arena. Being on FBBO has already shown to be a very helpful step in filling some of the numerous gaps in what I admit I don’t know. …if that makes sense. Lol

Hope you post pics of your project as it comes along. Color me sublimely jealous!

Well, if it makes you feel any better few of us didn’t have moments of idiocy in 1970, or in my case several moments.

But, if the rest of the boomers out there would just stop retiring, and rolling over their 401k’s into classic cars, the rest of us who have already retired might be able to afford one. Just one opinion …

That is a stable! Or a six-pack plus one.

A driver 68 was just listed here for 30k in the for sale section.
