71 Charger SE build

Got the headlamps and horns sorted out. Bad relay on each. I used a Bosch relay I had and adapted it for the headlamp doors and it works great. Now have modern relays on all the important circuits.

Spark, fuel, oil pressure are ready to go.

My gear head niece is stopping by for a couple days on her way back to NY so I will break it in when she's here. She is into imports and has never seen a big American V8 fired for the first time, she is excited about it.

What make radiator do you have?

What side is the lower hose outlet on?

It’s an aluminum sold by auto city classic on eBay. My lower is drivers side but they have both.

Just read your entire build thread (while allowing some sealer, BC, and CC to flash). Very nice work Sir, very nice!!! Hoping all goes well on your break in.

She just went around the block for the first time in 30 years! Engine, trans, and rear feel great. Spun the tires with no effort! Break in video coming soon...

Break in

Idle with the 702 Voodo and Hemi mufflers.

Got it fine tuned. It likes 18 initial and has 18 inches of vacuum at 900 RPM. Nice and smooth but cranks up fast when I hit it. Oil, fuel, and water gauges are accurate and battery is charging.

Coolant was puking out the overflow but a new cap solved that, now it pressurizes fine. Left rear valve cover leak but got it snugged and it stopped. Rear main dry!
Pretty good day. Now some :drinks:

Sounds great man. Love 71’s. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What a transformation. I’ve been following your build too. The color looks great, I am partial to gold leaf though :)

Headliner is done for the second time. What a difference a quality product makes. I screwed around with the REM headliner for three days, got frustrated and ordered a Legendary one. Took all of 5 hours and it came out great. The REM is in the trash. I used lots of good spring clips as I stretched it out. Worked out well.
