You sure cannot beat those "shotgun" tips. Great image.
I agree, but in stock form they hang too low and stick out too much IMO.You sure cannot beat those "shotgun" tips. Great image.
More like Tiphanglo....Me hang lo.
What power steering pump did you use with the hydroboost i used the holley unit 800psi & had trouble getting the pedal to return tried all the trick's like opening up the return line its like the pump hasn't got enough pressure to return the pedal without putting a huge spring on the pedal shaft. As you can see on the pic above written on the anvil is 3.480 which is what I wanted to cut the adapter to, ended up cutting it to 3.485 however the actual dimension of the horn is 3.450.
The air cleaner is 5" around and I included a little lip as well. I used 6061 T651 aluminum plate that was 1" x 6" (actually bought a plate that was 6 x 12 and cut it in half).
I also cut the 2 notches in the back of the adapter that allow the 2 indexing tabs inside of the AC base to ride in to help keep the AC pointing forward.
I put it all back on to the engine just to see and I "think" it will just clear. I do not think I will be able to use the fiberglass/plastic under hood box and seal but we will see.
For those interested, I used an annular cutter to punch a 1" hole in the center of the plate, I then used a boring bar to open up that hole to the 3.485". I then put the plate in the lathe and cut the outside down. It all made one hell of a mess...

I am using a LS pump, no idea if it is going to work or not. I am also running a Borgenson box. The Hydroboost set up is my own concoction, I bought a HB from Rock auto (Ram truck) and made the rest. No idea if any of it is going to work. What power steering pump did you use with the hydroboost i used the holley unit 800psi & had trouble getting the pedal to return tried all the trick's like opening up the return line its like the pump hasn't got enough pressure to return the pedal without putting a huge spring on the pedal shaft.
Same here new Ram booster & Borgenson box could be the 800 psi Holley pump i have Saginaw pumps on my Challenger's & they have the same problem but only slight, from what i can find the pedal return problem in very common with no real fix apart from the helper spring returnI am using a LS pump, no idea if it is going to work or not. I will see what happens when I get this thing going. I did another build with a 472 Hemi in a 70 RR and put in the same box but a HB kit. In that instance we used a stock PS pump I think and didn't have any pedal issue. I need to look into that and confirm.Same here new Ram booster & Borgenson box could be the 800 psi Holley pump i have Saginaw pumps on my Challenger's & they have the same problem but only slight, from what i can find the pedal return problem in very common with no real fix apart from the helper spring return
@HEMIB Does your PS pump have 2 returns? I talked to my buddy with the 70RR (who is in Brisbane BTW) and he says he does not have any issue with the pedal at all.Same here new Ram booster & Borgenson box could be the 800 psi Holley pump i have Saginaw pumps on my Challenger's & they have the same problem but only slight, from what i can find the pedal return problem in very common with no real fix apart from the helper spring return
He is using a Saginaw pump that has 2 returns which I believe was from a GM product. You can only see one of the returns in the pic (the silver fitting) but the other is there as well.Do you know what pump he is using I have tried with my return completely open from the booster back to the reservoir so there is no restriction if that worked i would make a second return on the plastic reservoir maybe the LS1 pump has a higher pressure & flow rate mine is 800 psi i found that the hydro boost likes around 1300 psi minimum i will measure the actual pressure with a gauge would like to get to the bottom of this has been occurring with about 60% of the builds i think Kern Dog had a similar problem. Pump is new Hydroboost is new Dodge RAM 1500 pressure lines are Earl, s with high flow fittings ,pedal needle bearing free movement .
Thanks think those pumps are around 1350 psi i have them on my 340 engines yes i have tried drilling the return orifice a couple of sizes bigger without any changeMy buddy has confirmed that is a Saginaw pump from Borgenson that is from a GM product. He added the following
"someone did say to check the return barb on the HB as some have a small hole through them which would restrict the flow of an open ended hose"
Found this will have to find a 1500 pump at the right priceMy buddy has confirmed that is a Saginaw pump from Borgenson that is from a GM product. He added the following

So you are thinking that you need more power/pressure?Found this will have to find a 1500 pump at the right price
