Ok so the Kid drags home this 5.7 complete nothin else tho, Starts all this crap we can do this, we can do that, with it we can buy this, we can buy that,.... ok...... then it sat for two years under the bench.....

Ok this things been in my way a long time & the kid as expected didnt do squat :angryfire:

OK NOW its MINE :icon_fU: (this is your official public notice dum a$$ :icon_fU: )

So now that he has been told what the heck do I do with it???? Haling it to the dump has passed my mind many times scrap and just selling it off as well but now I read these things will bolt on old school small block 727 Torqflight??? or a 904 ???? I hope no one would try that....
But I didn't know this.

What else dont I know what I can do with this newer engine.

Only interested in what can be used USED from MFG or REBUILT to work with NOTHING NEW OR STORE BOUGHT! only thing I may buy is engine mounts and headers but Im leaning towards the stock exhaust manifolds.

I have heard a Carburator can be used instead of electronic injection.
What about using an old school MSD Crank trigger and a carb can have all individual coil ignition still?
ANY one done that yet??

Yes, any small block trans will bolt right to it. You will need a flex plate (100 bucks), flash the computer (300ish to delete the factory auto), then you have your choice of harnesse's (1000 to 3000), engine mounts, headers, odds and ends.

Why not indeed?

I mean really What all is there to it? crank sensor cam sensor Mass airflow intake temp throttle position a few special connectors the pins of which are removable and replaceable.

To many these days are convinced they have to BUY every thing, What the Hell happened to REAL HOT ROD's when guys made the stuff themselves?

Thats EXACTLY How I got my name by the way

Back in the day when I was a Whipper snapper PUNK Hot Roddin an Old Charger and a TA
A Good Friend an I were Boxing in a SUB frame on his Sub frame on his 71-72 BB Dart and I start runnin my mouth about he had to buy this and he had to buy that and do it like this and that just like the Magazine!!!!

Thats when he said it and named me DORIGHT, Dudly Doright, right then and their and it stuck forever between friends.

Any Way it was then That he Explained his reasoning to me Yup those guys **** looks nice BUT IF every one is runnin their junk every one is the same and He didnt like being like any one else Jon Heise a Legend in his own mind!!! lol
Ah at the time it was like 1983-84 and we were putting HUGE Racing slicks off of a Dragster with rims for a 9 inch rear we were running a Danna under the Dart he had these Huge adapters made that were about 10 inches round & 3 inches thick and were heavyer than **** extra weight over the rear's he said, had them made to adapt the Big Dragster slicks to his rear end under the Dart, we used sheet metal to close in the whole thing both wheel wells in one to inclose the Big wheels we drug it the Dragstrip the next day first run out the box was a 9:54 we burnt the Electrode off a Plug and melted a piston needed more fuel. we had been stuck in the mid low 11s smoking the tires.

What 30 years later big tires rule the Drag strip

You'll need a pin diagram and be prepared to spend hours/weeks making the harness. It has been done before, but the people that did this sure did have a hell of a time doing it and if they had to do it all over, they would have just bought a harness. By the way, the hemi is speed density, not mass airflow.

These have no way to mount or run a distributor and by far the easiest way to run a Carb is to buy the msd hemi 6 box to run the spark for you. You could do anything you want if you want to come up with a way to run the spark on your own but we won't be able to recommend a setup for that since it wouldn't be off the shelf. You could modify a stock harness and computer on your own with a pinout...and that would be free. No matter what you will need a fuel pump and in tank pick-up since there is no mechanical pump.

You could fab a sheet metal intake manifold for it relatively easy or buy an indy mod man or another intake and run carbs, throttle bodies...whatever you want.

Buying the right flexplate and converter you can run any small block trans you want....or you could run the A833 4 speed...whatever you want to do.

There is no reason you can't go oldschool and build it all yourself...it just isn't going to be as straight forward as an old small block or big block. Now if you decide you don't want the hassle just put it on here for sale and one of us will probably snag it up.

I did mine the old school way with the exception of the engine control...and down the road that will change too...

There is nothing wrong with figuring this out yourself. There is also nothing wrong with standing on the shoulders of those that came before you and figured out how to do it.
