Thank you for the responses. I didn't realize that there was that many difference in opinions concerning the 727 and turbo 400. Me personally, either would work. I don't care who makes the product, as long as it works reliably and gets the job done. So with that written, I passed on the aluminum drummed 727. I figured, (i don't build transmissions) the time and money spent in having the drum replaced with a billet steel one I should just have a 727 transmission built to my needs.
well, given the option of modifying a car to fit a TH 400 & using and 727 can't imagine the choice. A fairly stock 727 will handle well over 600 HP. If you have more it just takes having the professionals build the trans. A TH 400 is not surely stronger.
