Well today, I took the front and rear seats out of the car and pulled up the rubber matting. Found some really cool stuff under the carpet. First was a little paper pouch with "Chrysler Corporation" on it that held a set of keys. The ignition key and glovebox key work on the car. The paper pouch disintegrated when I tried to lift it off the underpadding and the keys fell out. Its a really cool bonus as when I bought the car the seller said he didnt have a key to the glovebox.
Second I found little bitty remnants of a build sheet on passenger side rear seat foot area. I found another build sheet under the springs of the rear seat bottom. I was able to get it out in 3 main pieces but it is very fragile and crumbling easy. I think I am going to bring to a store and see if I can get it laminated.
The floor is totally shot! Mainly the floors behind the front seat and the base to where the bottom of the rear seat mounted is all swiss cheese. One area in particular my foot went right through as I was moving around trying to get the seat belts out. I will have to get pictures of the floor early in the week...didnt have the camera handy today. The front floor boards have some heavy scale on them but seem strong. I will probably replace them anyways. I am pretty sure all front floor pans for a 71-74 b-body will work. its the rears I think might be different.
Anyone know any different on this? Or are all the floors the same for all b-bodies regardless if they are 2 or 4 door? PO said this was a texas car all its life...I am seriously doubting that since all the floors from rear of front seat back are basically gone. Unless of course it sat in a marsh for 15 years...lol
