Accelerator fire wall plate under or over carpet?

The factory way doesn’t interfere with anything, if it did they would have done it the same way for 5 model years of vehicles. Also been in real trouble with a recall and lawsuits from all the crashes.

I’ve Driven B Bodies for 39+ years and never had a throttle stick on anything from the carpet. Broken engine mounts are a different story. LOL
