I'm getting ready to drop my fresh motor and trans back in the Bee, and ready to purchase the new clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing. My rebuilt 383 Mag. is rated at about 400 hp. on paper, nothing too crazy. I want something that will hold up to sometimes aggressive driving :3gears:, but nothing too stiff so the wife can drive it. What are you guys currently running or what do you advise? Thanks for the input.

I've been happy with Macleod. Not quite as good of luck using Hayes.

The Centerforce dual friction has a very easy clutch pedal. I haven't had a chance to pour the power to it, but many have said it will hold very well.............................MO

I just purchased a Mcleod for my Charger project. I ended up going with the standard borg & beck style instead of a diaphragm.

You won't need anything special here. I ran a 10.5" McLeod behind a Max Wedge and will run the same clutch behind my 426W 6 BBL in my 69 RR. A tip on the Borg and Beck style P-plate: There are three adjusters on the cover that set the heights of the fingers and the nuts are staked. I have had one or more loosen up, probably due to a lot of high RPM side steps, etc.. and the result seemed to be chatter. Once I readjusted then the chatter stopped but after adjustment I tack welded the nuts so they wouldn't move again.

If you use a diaphragm clutch you won't have that finger adjuster issue and the pedal effort will be less, so you might want to consider that as your clutch of choice.

Centerforce here. Light pedal and holds good. I have an hydraulic setup to. Take out the over center spring if you go diaphragm.

Centerforce dual friction for your application hands down. Easy pedal pressure, never slips, never chatters. Been in my Challenger 10K miles. Over 100 drag strip passes, many with slicks. Car runs 12.50@110. I hurt the 8 3/4 but not the stock 23 spline 833 or clutch.

I don't recommend a Spec Stage 3+. Easy pedal effort, but very on/off feel...not much slipping for the street.
