Anybody Else Have AT&T for Internet Connection??

Boy, this is ATT is garbage!!! Keeps going out, keep having to reset my router. I'm lucky I can stay on for more than 10- 15 minuets.

If anybody out there is thinking of switching to ATT, DON'T, it's **** service!!!!!

They suck in NYC....always dropping calls.....Changed to Verizon years ago......

Depends on your area. Verizon at work is great, AT&T sucks... At home we run everything on ATT and love the service.. If your in a metro area you should have some choices, out here in the sticks it's AT&T or "bobs intraweb service"...

There is NO good retail ISP's. PERIOD.

Oh I'm sure some of you out there are happy with your ISP... But its only a matter of time until you discover what a POS they really are.

If you want good stuff you pay through the nose for it and the accompanying equipment.

Locally owned cable/ phone company here and the service is really good.

charter here and works great .. i've got 5 people and multiple devices on the internet / gaming and plenty of bandwidth

i use at&t internet no problem with it.

Comcast: $hit
Verizon: $hit
(Not too) Brighthouse in Florida: $hit
Sprint: $ame
Netgear solved my router re-set problems.

Not cheap either. Pay a lot for sporadic service.

I've been on Brighthouse for a little over two years, and I LOVE it. Only been down twice, and was back up within 24 hours each time. Customer service has been pretty good as well.

I dealt with verizon for over 10 years as a corporate customer with over 150 T1/T3 and even faster service locations.

Customer service was ATROCIOUS!!! WORST EVER. It was ALWAYS "the problem must be on your end".
Numerous times I had to tell the phone suport what to do, or who to call, and often had to tell the techs how to use their equipment and what equipment to use!!

I also kept getting flyers for fios at my home, so I signed up, received the equipment, and never got the service!
After 3 months of arguing with customer service, I finally found out the service was not available in my area???

There's another company that will never get my business as long as I can help it.

I have ATT at the shop cause Time Warner for business is way to expensive. Sometimes its hot.... sometimes good for $hit.... Have time warner at home... much better. Around here its the only real choices....

TimeWarner you can get a package deal I believe. Home/Buisness. IF you don't use computers at your shop very much, then just pay for the lowest up and down speed. Save money but still have reliable internet.

Anyways:

Hmm, internet... My dads a computer Genius. We have a Netgear and a Linksys router. At his office he runs Hargray and TimeWarner (Each for back up, in case one goes down)

At home we have TimeWarner. Have very few problems and great up and down speeds. We live on an island with very dense vegetation.

Not sure if you have access to TimeWarner or Hargray in the cities but if you do, either or are the definite way to go.

at my business I have ATT,,,it is junk I spend so much time on the phone with these people! I now have
started to keep a record of the minutes I spend with ATT, and it is literally hours!!!
well, need I go on?
well, not many choices.....:edgy:
I have Charter at home, it is better than ATT....not great, but better.

.

Never heard of that around here. But computers are up and running all day and connected to a network in Denver. Its gotten to the point we cant do business without them. If you would have asked me 30m years ago Id a said what the hell do I need that for?? Times have changed!

AT&T - It seems there is a consensus here that they sukkazz! Now I cant say anything about the internet part of AT&T service wise. BUT in the past when they have jerked me around with phone issues I have found a very effective solution. FCC.GOV! They seem to be able to fix issues very quickly when you file a complaint with the FCC.

Thanks for the replies fella's. I guess this was like a rant kindof a thing. It's just frustrating, this is like the third time in less than a year. I should also specify that it's "AT&T Uverse". They tell me that it's a newer thing, but if this is what the future is going to be like, there's going to be a lot of pissed off people!

Yup. I consider myself lucky to have even been able to answer your question!
