Anyone on here have a GM muscle car?

I like them all (American Muscle). I just choose to spend my money and enjoy Mopars more. I probably spend more time working on all my buddies and family members brand x cars than I do my own. My Bro-in-Law has a cool triple green 69 Chevelle.

I love Mopars. I like all muscle cars. I like GM muscle cars. I like mid 60's GM A-body cars. THAT specific car ? .... no.
 
yea I have one a 68 L71 corvette, mostly original and came with the F41 package has been sitting in the garage for years.

I found this 66 Chevelle that I might go see on the way to visit my mother for Thanksgiving. Ex-drag car with 468 big block and turbo 400 trans, that has been sitting for 30 years. Not an SS, probably just a Malibu hardtop.

The wheel flares make me think of the Phantasm Cuda. I have no idea what an appropriate price for this thing should be. Guy has land and a lift, two things I wish I had. It’s hard to stop looking at other cars, even though I need to finish working on the one in my garage..

Ton of work, another rolling junk pile.. Something about those flared quarter panels that are appealing to me.. Somebody took the time to really sculpt them in there. Could paint it black and make it a Phantasm Chevelle with huge Cragar S/S wheels in the back. A what if Don Coscarelli was a Chevy guy car..

I had a '67 Malibu. Sold it about 4 years ago. Bought it from a friend of a friend going through a divorce so the price was right. Disassembled project car (rolling shell) that I brought home in boxes. Presented some interesting challenges since I hadn't taken it apart, and as a lifelong MoPar guy I had never even ridden in a mid-sixties GM A-Body, much less put one together. It ended up being a pretty decent car that drove nicely and ran well, but I'm glad that it's gone. Used the proceeds to help finance the resto of my A12.

I would think if it runs and drives the $3500-6,000 figure may be close.If owner set no price throw a low ball and see if he catches it.
 
I've a 74 Trans AM. Have had it for years. Can't bring myself to part with it. Tired paint, rock solid body, good running 400 with A/T and a good shift kit, and really nice sounding exhaust. It's an absolute blast to drive.

When people walk around in the pole barn looking at all my junk, they are invariably confused to see that single GM muscle car sitting there. If you like it, go for it. I was reminded just yesterday you only live once.
 
I prefer the early Chevelle Malibu to the latter. Same with Beaumont Acadian. That one looks to be fairly solid. Arches for drag tires, oh well. They can be fixed or filled. Those cars have a decent market. They are not so belly button as the later General Motors products.

I also don’t care whether everybody else likes what I own, because I don’t necessarily like what everybody else owns! So I would own that. :)

Nostalgia is cool.
 
A car sitting 30 years is going to need most everything and this looks like a unfinished project that was never run. Not a fan of the wheel flares and the trans tunnel is awful. But it only takes time and money 2 fix it:poke: From what I have seen...stripped for racing hurts the value. If the modifications were poorly done that doesn't help. I would consider the parts that are there that have value (like the vintage tunnel ram),add them to the cost of a 66 chevelle shell. Look under the car see if it has a 10 or 12 bolt. 10 bolts break w a 2 barrel.:D
Still have my first car...71 chevelle.

I was brought home from the hospital in a 66 malibu. It's one car that got away. Mom bought it as a teenager with her baby sitting money. Blue/black interior buckets/console and 283 glide. Will always have a soft spot for 66's.

Add up the value of parts IF it runs. Then divide that by 4. Then. Get a 10% discount for large bills. No title, then subract $500. Add $300 for being an Az. car unless it used to live in Ma. or R.I. There's you answer!!
 
My Chevy friends and I have explored why Mopar muscle cars have more curb appeal than Chevy muscle cars? And what we found is because of more aggressive body lines. Starting with sheet metal folds. Chevy Chevelle from 64-70 still have their influences from the 50s. More rounded sheet metal. Definitely from the 55-57 successes. Especially in their front ends. Mopar's sharper angles gives a more sinister look. A more predatory look if you would. Which I believe is an attraction. Probably due to primal fears of being prey. We also agree that because of this styling advantage? Mopar can get away with wilder color schemes. Ever see plum crazy on a Chevelle? It doesn't look right. And I believe it's because Chevelles have too "plain" of a look. Thus the color dominates the eye.

This of course is highly argumentative due to the beholder. But what I believe makes good art? Is what I call "Eye Attention." What keeps your eye the longest is typically more talented and appealing art. So in conclusion? We tend to look at Mopar muscle cars longer than Chevy due to this greater curb appeal.
