Dex III was superseded by Dex Merc but that's old school now also
+4 is an upgrade to either-it's a flat better spec
Incidentally I just saw that GM is specing DEX VI for chevy pickups whereas Allison specs their 295 spec which is much better- who builds the trans and who wants to spec a less expensive fluid?
