Hi all, I've just purchased a 1966 Charger here in Aus. The car was imported about 4 years ago and has basically been sitting in a garage ever since. None of the instruments work except for the Speedo and Amp gauge. Can I assume that this is probably a common thing with these cars and is their a fix for them? I haven't started to look at it yet as I have some repair work high up on the rear quarter passengers side where there was some undercoat. I started to rub it back and found under the filler as you do some damage like a truck backed into it or something. Very strange as it's quite high. It's a 361 auto and the original colour was blue with white interior but it has been painted some time ago a very bright metallic red and a change of interior also to red which is in very good condition. The metallic has faded and the car is now a combination of red and green. Looking forward to picking the brains of all you knowledgeable people over time.

Cheers,

Glenn

Welcome to FBBO. Always glad to have another Aussie on the forum. I know your instruments can be fixed. Just not sure how you go about it. Their are companies I assume, even down under, that do that kind of work. I had mine all repainted and refreshed when I restored my car. The speedo is pretty basic - you could probably do that one yourself. Might just be a disconnected or broken cable. It happens.

Glad to have you aboard - someone will be along that can give you better indications that I can. By the way - we like pics of your ride.

Hi Glenn,

My small side business is www.thegaugedoc.com. I specialize in the repair/restoration of the first generation Charger electroluminescent lighting and gauges. I own 3 first gens myself. I've shipped two clusters to Australia with no problems. Glad to help if you need repairs...very solid car, nice find!

Thanks,
