How many 741's have you seen broken?Pull the weak 741 and sell it to someone who thinks it's worth $100 and send me the housing. I'll narrow it, back brace it and sell it to someone who's making some HP and has a sure-grip center section! Seriously though, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
A few... And even 742's and 489's. To be fair, most had a 500" stroker in front of them! How many 741's have you seen broken?
We've broken a few running a 4 speed Super Street car back in the early 80's but it was mostly shaved teeth. Car ran 10.70 and launched at 6k!! Never broke a pinion shaft though but ended up throwing a Dana 60 at it and the problem of shaved teeth went away.A few... And even 742's and 489's. i sold it to a guy who used to have one and wanted to relive his youth.
