Back in the day

Upon further contemplation, the above female probably didn't own it. They just didn't do 'that' back in the day! Awesome pic though.

Sorry, but I have to dis-agree. A young lady in our town, fresh out of college, her Dad the local farm implement and Mopar dealer. She bought a brand new 1957 Plymouth Fury two 4 bbl 318 engine. Drove it out to teach school in California for a few years. and then came back home. The Fury sat in her parents yard for many years , she never married. Not being driven at all . Like a dummy, I didn't realize what it was , and let it get away from me Many years later a guy came along and bought it for little to nothing. Much more to the story after then...............................MO

Having a dad that was a dealer is not the norm, lol.

A factory 318 with twin 4bbls?! I had no idea! I learned something new for the day.....Thanks!

Blade I think he meant a Fury II?? I once put a 4-bbl carb&intake on my dad's 63 Fury that I pulled off an older car that was in the junkyard, rebuilt the carb and spent the weekend going thru a tank of gas ($..035 a gal?) and took it back off,too much money!!!

I think they offered the dual quads for only a couple of years on the "big block" or "poly" 318. Very cool looking setup. I'm not sure if it made a lot more power, but definitely cool...

I believe marios pic is a BB 383, one of my buddies had one on a 61-2 Fury. Not very common, but we didn't know that at the time!

Now you have me question what I think I know. I do know the Fury engine was very special high performance, but I could be thinking of the Chrysler 300 letter cars. The 57 Fury only available in buckskin color with gold side sweep. Except for Christine ! The Fury also had several other things unique to them. The guy that wrangled the Fury here local that I am talking about, sold it out East for $12,000 last year, and it needed TOTAL restoration including floors. ..............................MO

The gold grille and the fender top spear looks like 57.-58
I believe that by 61-62 the Chryslers and Dodges had long tube cross ram intakes. Don't know about the Plymouths and even IF there were Furys in those years...........................MO
