Bad 440 lifter, HELP

I put a new set of comp lifters in about 300 miles ago. All cam lobes, pushrods & rocker arms were fine then. I was just thinking something might have partially clogged one of the lifters after the oil change. I had switched from 5W 30 mobil one with some additive in it to 15W 40 oil made for older cars with zinc in it.

You're right, the easiest way is to just buy 2 new lifters & be done with it. It aggravates me that i change the oil & now have a ticking lifter. I was more thinking why would putting in better oil do anything to them. They only have about 300 easy miles on them.

Yup.

Sure it's irritating. Pain in the rear to re-do re-dos. But, nature of the beast.
Tappets are a critical part, but like anything else, their made and assembled by human hands, that can screw up sometimes.
