Bilstein Shock ???

I recently bought a set of Bilstein shocks but there a few things about them that make me go hmmm.
On the front shocks, the bolt hole at the bottom measures .450 but on the control arm it measures .420. Isn't this a little sloppy or does it just go in that way?
On the rubber cushions at the top that go through the shock tower, the old ones were a press fit, these aren't even close. What do you do for that?
DO you use a dust cover for the front shocks and if so which ones?

The ones I bought for the charger fit perfectly. Did they ship or give you the wrong ones for your application?

Just put a pair of rears on the runner today. Fit great, but had to trim the thickness of the lower bushings, to get the washer and nut on the stud.

Did you happen to purchase a set of fronts as well? If so, what is the diameter of the hole? What size bolt was used to connect them to th LCA?

Sorry, no. I only needed the rears... one came off at the bottom, and the bottom eyelet got damaged on the pavement. I did put a front pair on my 70 `cuda...and they installed normally.

I bought mine 4 years ago, from a different source, and they have the same goofy part number sticker, so must be par for them to do it this way. I had no problems with fitment.

Well at least that's good to know. I tried contacting PST but for whatever reason they were closed yesterday. My rear shocks came with different size bushings. The fronts were already pressed in with no other bushings in the box to select from.
Is that the way yours came?
What rubber bushings did you use on the shock tower?

Got mine more than 10 years ago when Hotchkis carried them. All four. They were called "Mopar Tuned" at the time. Went right on. Perfect. One of the best upgrades ever.

I bought mine from P-S-T, also. They told me the front bushings would work once torqued down.

The rear shocks have their own problem with the metal sleeves/bushings/spacers being too short and the I.D. about 1/16" too big. I had to buy new spacers.

*****UPDATE*****

I just got an email from Dan at P-S-T who said he spoke to Sean at RCD, who makes the shocks for Classic cars, and Dan said Sean told him the 55-R093 and 55-R126 rear shocks are the same. The only difference is in the upper mounting hardware, which, RCD is going to direct ship to me.

I received the metal sleeves and installed the rear shocks. Only took me 4 days to swap all four shocks. Come on P-S-T and RCD, get your stuff together.

Is it true that Bilstein shocks are harsher compared to Konis? Which is better to choose to pair with H&R Springs?

Don't know about the Koni comparison. Bilsteins firm and compliant but comfortable for me, not harsh. Koni's worked good on my motorcycle, not complaints there.
