This thread got me thinking, when was the last car made with a chrome bumper? Not a pick up truck, but a car.

I think the point was that the VW was the car for the masses and they hardly changed their styling for like 60 years.Sorry to the VW guys but I have never ever liked those things and after owning one, I REALLY don't like them lol
Crown Vic/Grand Marquis had them in 91, Cadillac till 92.... And the winner? VW Beetle produced in Mexico & Brazil till 2003....This thread got me thinking, when was the last car made with a chrome bumper? Not a pick up truck, but a car.

That lasted a short time.Damn that bed looks so nice and comfortable, I could sleep on it !
Those are SUV's.
Not "cars".
Most 'cross overs' are Wrong Wheel Drive automobile platforms with larger tires and bloated body attached. I think the CRV is actually a Civic and the Pilot is actually an Accord, etc.I believe that they are called crossover vehicles.

I don't think so. The body configuration ( hardtop, sedan, wagon ) is similar. Styling ? Not so.Put all the 60's and 70's station wagons in a row and it would look similar.
Form follows function. They all look the same when they are parked together. And there were others scattered about. What happened to automotive styling?
