Hey guys,
I’m trying to get a bonded title. I got the big lecture on bodies being separated from the frames. There is a number on the core support. Is that considered the “frame”? They said there is another one on the rear deck by the speakers driver side. I didn’t have access to it when it was inspected but went home and found it. Is that considered the “body”? They both match. Should I be good? There is another number, might start with a “T”. Can’t remember for sure but it’s about 5 or so digits. I don’t want to go back and they take it. Thanks!

what make year and model

Does your dash VIN, core support, trunk lip numbers all match with any documentation you possess ?

Need make and model. I take you must just have a shell with no dash VIN, fender tag or door tag. Just remember that without the dash VIN someone else most likely re-bodied a car using that VIN.

66 satellite complete car minus the engine has vin number.

The VIN is not on the body for 1966, it is the SO number. That number is on the fender tag but it won't tie it into the vin.
Do you have a broadcast sheet?
You can get the IBM card from Chrysler historical and that will tie the SO number into the VIN.

A friend brough in a car for inspection and since the VIN # didn't match the body # they chiseled off the VIN tag. It got fixed.

I have a 75 AMC Hornet. Years ago, it was an OKla. car, the owner swapped out the boogered dash (with vin) and added another one and did not change out the vin on dash or door post.. It sells to guy in Tx. that since it was out of state car, must take it to DPS guy to verify not stolen, and since the vin does not match the stamped on body vin , TEXAS issues their title with their # and stamps this number on the side of B post. Since it is NOT a 71 hemi Cuda, should be no big deal, but it is!!!
The car if totally legal as far as Tx. and title is concerned, but most people are **** idiots when buying a pretty much worthlless old classic!!!.

I failed to answer the question. Your car is a unibody, it has no separate frame as you know.
I assume you have NO title? Or is it an out of state car????

Bonded title, the computer under state of Tx, tells you how, step by step, not hard just PIA. and costs the $ for a bonded title.
The Tx, DPS offer does 2 things, he verifies it is not stolen, and that the vin on car matches the stamped on # on the appropriate places on sheetmetal. IF good, he gives you a document, and you go to puter and make copies of all the other documents involved and go from there. One will be a "appraisal " made by a car dealer! ha ,,, and usually the state will give you their appraised value to use with bonded co. anyway!v All just stupid chit involved with Texas!

Though in other locations, the build sheet is most often found under a seat between the springs and foam

VIN is on the driver door jam. Different than the SO number. The basic question is on the 66 satellite what are they considering the frame number (SO)? And does that have to match the number on the rear deck to prove the body hasn’t been swapped to another frame?

If the vin tag is on with the original rivets, what's the problem again??
Did the dmv get into mopar restorations and deciphering SO's ?
The frame, is the body, is the car. Tell them to look up unibody.

Thanks. I’ve got a couple bonded titles in Texas in the past. They just want to compare the core support number to the number on the rear deck match. I don’t know if that’s the way the factory marries the 2 pieces together. The VIN is on the door jam. I understand it won’t match the SO number. It looks to have the original rosette rivets. I just don’t want to waste my time and go back for them to take my car. I would just sell it.

Thanks. These guys are being extra critical. They want to compare the core support number with the number on the speaker deck. I had a police officer friend look up the VIN and it’s not in the system.
