Broke down and tried a new converter

I use 275/60's on the back of my 65 coronet. It's flat sided like the 66-67's. I'd be concerned about the 8 3/4 with that power and weight.

If I keep it up, it won’t last long I’m sure

Are you still using a 3.23 gear?

Yep.

I do very little highway driving. If I did, with this converter, I’d run my 2.94 gear. I bet it would not loose but maybe a tenth. I’m actually thinking about trying it to see.

I've long thought that's the right way to build a street car. 3.2's, stroker torque. Nicely done.

And manifolds as well?

Yep, still with exhaust manifolds, 2 1/2” exhaust and a cam with 48 degrees overlap.
