busted knuckle pictures

At the scrap yard, taking in some 20” aluminum rims and one of them fell off the cart and landed edge first in my toe. Rust was 2 months ago and it’s still causing me pain. The nail hasn’t come off yet, still waiting for that little setback!

OUCH!! Fingers and toes are extra painful.

OUCH!! Fingers and toes are extra painful.

the worst part about the ordeal so far is that it’s changed the way I walk, and has caused a lot of stress on my muscles. I now get leg cramps and a sore back from walking a different way, and I can only wear crocs, or shoes without a tongue, as the stitching of the tongue on the inside rubs directly on the cuticle area of my toe, making it very painful to walk. When the nail comes off, it’s gonna be a whole new game.

Been there and done exactly that.

OK. I'll play. I haven't remembered to take any pictures when I have smashed my fingers or done other damage to my hands - maybe because this happens a lot!

But I did get a couple of shots when I went down on my bike and 'exfoliated' my back.

I had gloves on but the asphalt wore through the gloves...

...it's a story I have shared quite a bit over the years.....

I have told this one before....but it's worth another run....

Back in around 1993, while working in London (England), I had a need for a tetanus booster shot. I had cut myself on the arm at work, and I knew I hadn't had one since childhood. So I call into my Dr on the way to work the next day. The Receptionist told me to go around and see the Nurse.
I get in the room, and the Nurse says to me to get ready, as she was getting the injection sorted out.

When she turned around, I had my shorts and underwear around my ankles, and I was bent over the bed - exposing my *** and tackle.

Horrified, she yelled to me - "Mr L***, we give tetanus in the arm these days. Put your pants back on!"

She actually came running at me from the other side of the room to jab me....had a bruise for about a week.

I chuckled a bit, she not so much. It was a very stony silent transaction to pay for that visit. :D

Payback was my karma a year or so later .....when I had gastroenteritis, as a result of eating a hamburger (probably horse meat) in France. I sent my wife along with my sample bottle.....jam packed, including some extra sweet corn kernels. :D

And she didn't divorce your ***?? WOW!!

I got an arc flash from a motor control center bucket that shorted out. Luckily my clothes didn’t catch on fire. This was before we started wearing protective gear.

I should have been more specific other than simply stating "bike". In this case it was a bicycle, and I was simply wearing a bike shirt. I was doing about 30 MPH and taking a turn hard when the stem on my handlebars (which had loosened) twisted. I went down like a sack of potatoes.

I have a V shaped scar where a chunk got cut into the side of my leg from a motocross (motorcycle) accident. But it was many years ago and I have no pictures. Luckily, I have never dumped a road motorcycle, although I came close on a Harley fat boy one time. Made me pucker up when I was headed for the other lane when I wasn't supposed to!

Apparently my father had a similar experience in his youth. Launching into the pedals when the stem snapped.

He ended up briefly running behind the handlebars, before face-planting the road.
