I was a hard core traveling bracket racer for 20 years, I was pretty good.
In the '70's there were lots of guys that used 4 speed. When I bought my '65 Coronet it came with 2 broken 4 spds & 1 good one, broken 8 3/4 rear. I knew I couldn't drive a 4 spd consistently, put a 727 in it. I used the 727 in various forms after that. One day at Byron Il, I had broken something, local Top Gun Steve Folk asked what I needed. I told him I was a Mopar guy, he said my Vega is Mopar back from the fly wheel, Mopar 4 spd & Dana. If I break the 4 spd, I just get one from the junk yard, crash it and go.
But I'm still a 727 guy. I got my share of .000 lights and lots of wins with the 727.
