Can automotive clear over polished aluminum?

What did you use to paint self etch primer and then semi gloss Rust-Oleum?

I’ve not had any problems with polished aluminum dulling. I just wax it. I’ve tried Sharkhide but application and appearance are problematic on anything but slender trim pieces. Maybe atmospheric conditions are the cause of different experiences.

5.7 Hemi here @ FBBO repaired my grille,stripped the anabrite and hand Polished the Aluminum Grille & headlight bezels.I just keep polishing when needed and look like jewelry!
Had my intake & Valve covers polished and clearcoated.Gas stains will not clean up,with I left them bare.

I agree with stripping and keep on polishing. I was told that if you anodize it after and there are any flaws, they will be magnified.
