can someone try and talk some sense into the moron on ebay

You are talking about 67 being the first year for Plymouth to use a 440 right? My 440 is dated 10 26 66 and came from a Cornet, also a fellow in my car club is the original owner of a 66 Charger that has the numbers matching 440 still in it.

there are no "numbers matching" in 66 or 67 , no VIN stamped on ANY engine block. so whoever told you that is full of it. the best you can do is a date code, and that does not prove a specific engine came in a specific car

66 Sports Fury was only Plymouth available with 440 in 1966. G code is for the 383. If I could find my 66 Belvedere owners manual I would post engine options.

Someone correct me if Im wrong but I thought the first 440's were built in the later part of 1965. (I think I have seen a 440 with a 1965 date on it) and used in some of the 1966 cars. The 'street wedge' 426 was used in 64 and 65.

Here is the dealers order sheet from 66 showing the ordering options.

Problem is, Chrysler deviated from their normal ordering options many times, the real problem is, people know this and make ridiculous claims sometimes, stating "THEIRS" was one of those anomaly's when it really wasn't, or someone told them it was so, and they re-quote what they were told like it was gospel from the almighty. Unless you have documentation to back up the claims, it's all moot, or pure BS

eBayer might be a bit of a tool, or just tired of bellyaching, sounds a little more like the first though based on your account with him, still a nice car with those items installed factory or not, I'd still stay away.

Please read the post, i clearly state it doesn't say it in the add but that i asked him what year the motor was !!!!!!!!!!!

like I said, he's probably just a tool, especially if he has to result to profanity over your question

Date code 10/66 is 1967 the new model year starts in September, and your friends charger also must have been a 67 the only mopars that came with 440's in 66 were C bodys, their wasn't a single B body made in 66 with a 440 end of story

This fool on ebay says his 66 belvedere is a factory 440 car, for one thing the first year they put 440 in b body was 67 in gtx only, belvedere was made 51-70 and there's never been a single one made with a 440 not even by accident, not to mention his vin number is G (383) he says he is the biggest mopar gut on the planet and that I'm a fool, what a friggin crackhead
Don't waste your time! You have no right to stick your nose in someone else's business! You may want to do right and well intentioned but it's just not your place!

Sorry. I didn't catch that you actually called and talked to the guy. So is he claiming that it's an all original, unmolested car? If it is, it's damn rare. Maybe one of one LOL.

The wiring on drivers side firewall looks like an accident waiting to happen. Anyone smell fire?

And I see a lot of over spray under the dash and filler dust still on the back seat. If this is the quality of the paint job I would be worried about any body work under it.
