Car Shows and lack of Mopars

Went to a small show very close to me with mostly Bellybutton Camaros, Vettes and the usual Ford and Chevy trucks. The only Mopars were my 68 R/R project my buddys 31 Plymouth sedan and a GYC done 70 Cuda. I got a award for best Orphan?? and my buddy got one for best modified Mopar?? His car is bone stock from the 6 volt flat head 4 to the wooden spoke wheels. Makes you wonder what the Judges were smokin. Best of show went to, You guessed it a Camaro.
I must admit. The only cars I seen were the Mopars, and those on way to the Mopars (vettes and lead sleds) not to say I didn't want to peek at the rest. It was very hot and my 6mo. old son wasn't liking it. So I prioritized.

last friday night i "intergrated" the corvette club's cruise with the '65 dodge. i know the club prez and he always invites me to something. everybodies cool about and i do like the early vettes; just can't afford one. some years back i read something to the effect that about 65% of car people support chevrolet, about 20% ford, about 10% chrysler, and everybody else in the 5% group. where i live it's probably 85% chevrolet. sometimes it's cool having the only dodge out 50 or 60 cars. i enjoy talking to most of the people about the car but you'll never get away from some brand X snobbery.

Here on Long Island,we have a cruze spot and choices depending if your in Nassau,Suffolk or NYC. I get out at least 3 nights a week.

That's may be the most beautiful car pic ever. They're all lined up like they're on an aircraft carrier waiting to go shoot down some Japanese Zeros or maybe just some tuner cars. Lol

Coming back from the "Dead Mans Curve" show where there wer over 2000 cars,I enjoy the reactions I get driving though Manhatten.Seems like a thousand people take a picture.

I forget how few people own mopars outside the east-side of Detroit. We have hundreds that make the weekly rounds around metro Detroit.

I'd love to have that car. Gotta hemi sitting in the garage..........
It's beautiful on the inside too. What would it have originally? 354? I would think if was a 392 it would have stayed. Not that a 413 is common.

I have two interesting personal invites in the next two weeks. The first is next Sunday to a private " cars and coffee". This guy is a casual acquaintance who has known about my build. He is into imports( euro cars) and has three but I don't know what they are. A bunch of his euro club buds are coming to his house for this event and it seems I will be the only Amerlican Muscle there out of 30 cars.
The second event is a large chili cook off and car show. I was invited to and my fees paid for by a large Chevy dealer in Sacramento! THAT should be real interesting to have my GTX in a Chevy dealer display!
I will post pics as they become available.
I do agree that Mopars are becoming fewer and fewer at large events. There were precious few of them at Hot August Nights this year.

At least our local meets haven't been invaded with the fart can crowd!

Don't post pics of anything but your GTX. I've seen enough Chevy already
