Christmas came early "1911 style"

I love my 1911 as well, great handling weapon. My Mosin is as hard to conceal as well, makes me look like I have a biga$$ woodie and the bayonet trashes my pants!:toothy9:

A great gift for sure, I have versions of the 1911 and sure do love them. One of my favorites is the Springfield compact V10 model. Has the ported barrel and a few other goodies. It's a good size for carry.

Sweet, ya got to love a Springfield Armory 1911 .45acp

A great hand gun for sure! Wish I'd kept mine from when I was across the pond!

What a gift! My dad gave me this for Christmas "he's never been one for waiting". I love it, the 1911 has always been my favorite hand gun along with the 45 being my choice for knock down power. Last year he got my wife a Judge (410 revolver), the man has good taste in presents.

Congrats! That's a smoking hot weapon brother. I've always wanted one of those too.

I have my pappys old 1911 colt, he was in the south pacific 2nd marine div. amphtrac battalion, the old shoulder holster is about disintegrated but still works ok.he survived 6 beach assults and a bunch of other $hit. he was 90 when he left me 25 mos. ago.said he had to change barrels on it 3 times because of salt, sand and use. it has Plexiglas hand grips he had to make out of plane canopy and hot wire to cut it. they look primitive but i'll never replace them. I fire it regularly an have for 50 years or sinse I was 10 when he gave it to me. 1911s are one of the best of our time. thanks pap.

You are going to have to show it cryply!

That's a nice looking gun. Wish I could get a few myself. Great video on the hidden compartments too.

I know you mentioned "improvements", but in the 80's Colt added a firing pin safety to their 1911's which many shooters hated. Colt lost a lot of sales to the companies making 1911 clones without the FPS. Eventually, Colt went back to making the 1911 without the FPS. Capitalism once more proves itself.

Nice nice gun!

I'm partial to the 1911's myself. It amazes me that over 100 years after the original Army contract that the only significant "improvements" we deem necessary to this platform is some minor changes to the hammer, grip safety, sights, and options for the backstrap...and it's especially interesting that these are the same changes between the original 1911 and the 1911 A1 platforms.

The design speaks for itself in its longevity, functionality and versatility. The 1911 is never the "wrong" answer, and is remarkably durable.

I hope you enjoy that fine tool!

Your probably right, I've been wanting something that keeps at least a couple LOADED weapons hidden but easily assessable and never saw a cabinet like that "the little wheels are turning now".

Anybody have any ideas why it will not let me upload pictures of this gun? I have tried to insert it and/or copy and paste it, but will not do others..The format of the computers is correct and matches what the website supports.

here you go tallhair

Probably the size of the pictures - if you're using a phone camera, and it's 6 mega pixel - it's pretty big.

Shrink the picture size down and it'll help it to show up - quicker.
