I finally completed my race engine. I designed it to put out between 550 and 600 horse. My goal was to keep the car above 11.50 to avoid the cage requirement. I fired up the engine on Saturday and it started on the first turn of the key. Sounded very healthy. I was concerned because I have never built an engine before. lol. Here are some specs.

440 .030 over
Steath CNC ported aluminum heads
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
800 Edelbrock Carb
.545 lift hydraulic flat tappet Comp Cam
3500 stall Hughes converter
Crane gold roller rockers 1.5
4.10 Richmond gears in an 8.75
Moser axels
car weighs about 3850 with me in it(conservative estimate)

Need to do yet before I take it to the track:
install line lock
drive shaft loop
get a new drive shaft
install new gas tank
install Caltracs
Drag Radial

I wanted to build something I could maintain with my skill level so I kept it simple.

Looks good keep us posted.

Love it! you are just right on with me minus the 4-10's and the 3500 stall, when will you know how much it pulls?

It may be a couple weeks yet before I get it on the road. The local Dodge dealership has a chassis dyno. I think I will take it to the track and see where I am at and then have it dyno tuned if I am not happy with my ET.

Looks good, 2 thumbs up

Good for you man, a successful break in is always a relief. I am almost at that point with my build too. Fingers crossed.

Very nice!!!11.50 you will probably be on the brakes to slow it down a touch!Best of luck with the maiden voyage.Keep the pics and info coming.

I hope you are right. I have compared my set up to others on the internet but it is hard to compare because no one ever lists the density altitude they are running in. That make a difference. I have seen similar builds running mid 11's to low 12's. My buddy has an original 1970 Hemi Cuda he races. He runs 11.5. It would be nice to compete with him heads up for fun.

Looks Great! Good Job. Keep us posted on how it runs?

Where you going to race at? Beaver Springs?

Yep, I will be racing at Beaver Springs. Hope to get to a Saturday test and tune and a Friday night race in June then be ready for the Nostalgia Nationals in July. Jr Stock Class.
