Taking the car to get inspected, have the gas tank installed, mount the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials and have the tach wired up. Then I am taking it to another garage to have the Rear gears, axles, and drive shaft installed. Also, I put the hood back on yesterday and it fit perfectly with the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and drop base air cleaner.

Naw, that can't your first engine!! Nice job! Btw, it takes less than 500hp to go 11.50 in a 4000 lb car but everything has to be right for it to happen. Depending on tires you use, you shouldn't have any problem.

I remember how nervous I was before firing up my first engine build!! I literally sat in the seat with my hand on the key for at least 5 minutes going over everything in my head to make sure I didnt miss anything. My buddy got impatient and began calling me less than favorable names so I pumped the gas and turned the key and it sprang to life. I had to enjoy a few frosty cold beverages while I ran it through initial break-in with a huge smile on my face. Congrats on your first build and that is a truly bitchin car! I think I speak for all of us when I say I (we) need to see pictures/video of it on the dyno and at the track!

I know the feeling, when I first built my 440 I was stoked to get home, i had to go to work and my dad finished wireing up, I raced home, and he started telling me he wasn't sure what's wrong, had me try it and just cranked, then he was all let my try something, told me to try again and it barked right up. He then told me he had already started it a hlaf hour before I got home. My dad loves to toy with us.
