Converter Stall Speeds

Very cool!
I use the MP 590 cam, but also have 1.6 rockers That makes it a .629" lift, but when you subtract the valve lash, your back down to around .600" just a bit over that, but close enough to say 600 when asked.
I here a lot of folks comparing camshafts, but never take into account the lash when calculating things....
I like the thought of 6" between the tire and track!!!! Hows your suspension setup? Do you realy feel the power band come in when your car rolls out, or is it strong down low with the stroker setup?
Thanks!!!!

My cams lift comes out to .624 and .632 with the 1.6 rockers before considering valve lash. This stroker feels real strong thru the full 1/4 run to me. After I jetted up last weekend it was so strong out of the hole it felt like a different car. And it pulled nice all the way down the track. My suspension is basically stock but I use SS springs in the back with longer extended shocks. And I have the comp 90/10 shocks up front. Thats it all the rest is stock. Ron

Did you loosen up your front torsion bars, or just leave them alone?

I had the fab shop make up a set of "Cal-Trac" copies I drew up, and will be using them with S/S Springs already on the car. I modified the components of Calvins design, to come up with my own angles and options for adjustments.... I have high hopes for these newly designed Traction Control Devices, "TCD" as I refer to them. They sure look good anyhow!!! LOL!
BTW 383man, did you add another hole in your front spring hangers to move your S/S springs back forward some? Mine is one of the installs that moved the front driveshaft Yoke out from the tailshaft by and inch or so further than the stock location. I haven't done this yet, but plan on it when my TCD gets installed.

Torsion bars are adjusted to where I like it sitting as thats all I did with them.

No extra holes in my spring hangers as I still use the factory hangers up front and use a heavier hanger in the rear. It all seems to work fine so I left it like that. Ron

67 B Body,

I just skimmed this thread, so if this was already brought up sorry.

We're running a 498 Hemi with a 5500 stall ATI converter. In the beams the car will push through if dad brings it up much over 2500 RPM. But it flashes to 5600 RPM on the tach.
When he stages the car he only brings it up to 2000-2200 and leaves from there.

What I would do if I were you is call ATI or Turbo Action and tell them what you have. They'll want to know HP, Cam, car weight, tire size gear ration, transmission ratio, etc etc. and let them build you a converter for what you're trying to do.
If the converter is too tight it will leave like a turd and won't et, if it's too lose it will leave good but won't MPH, not to mention on the street it will always be in the converter and build a lot of heat. That's why I would want to talk to the mfg of the converters, so they can point you in the right direction.
