Custom rear exhaust exit ideas??

I've been playing with straight pipe systems since the mid 70's and have had some that were surprisingly quiet and some that I figured should be quiet turn out to me nasty loud lol. Most of my straight pipe cars had mild engines with full exhaust systems but without mufflers. One was nearly as quiet without the muffler as it was with it but it had a converter. My bone stock V6 Dakota is probably the most nasty and loudest sounding vehicle yet while my /6 Belvedere sounded like it just had a glasspack on it. I finally took a 4 foot long piece of pipe and put 7 shallow crimps in it similar looking to what the Powerstick mufflers have in them. It made a difference but it's pretty loud but it you drive it normally, it's not too bad at all but if you floor it, then it's pretty nasty still. I don't mean nasty loud....it is loud but it sounds nasty. Hard to describe....not nasty enough to put a muffler on it :D

I still like old school.I was very happy after installing tail pipes out past the back bumper. No more fumes in the car even if it's running fat when it's very humid out.

Any under car pictures of your exhaust?

Do you have enough room to make a hole or notch in the sub-frame connectors ?
&
then just box it back in, where it was cut or hole-sawed,
going around the pipes going thru or under it...

I'm just spit-balling throwing **** out there, see if any of it sticks...LOL

Not in their current form but I can always make another set, thinking about it?

That's almost exactly how my exhaust looks only dumping out the sides. Love the fat tires!!

These pics show the issues with any center exit and show the direct path to the reverse lights. Any center exit would require gas tank mods!!

Reverse lights are overrated. They can also be moved. The simple and straight routing is attractive.

I agree, move the lights outboard and run them through the backups. Done.

Bingo, we have a winner! After spending some time looking at the car last night and of coarse looking at the possible paths this is it. To be honest those tips are almost exactly what I had in mind. ...... You da man Goon! Does this earn me a Fer Racin stamp of approval?

Thanks for that link,
that car is one bada$$, well built & very well thought out 69 Charger

I totally agree, just plain badass!

Next is how to execute this, I'm thinking homemade tips fastened in semi rigid and connecting them to the main exhaust with a braided flex pipe? Then theres the sound... it's already to quiet and adding at least another 6ft of pipe isn't going to help so maybe no mufflers??

Looks great and that is a fine Charger. Still two chrome trimmed outlets, just not centered, why didn't I think of that. That's outside the box stuff right there..

O.K. on to the next thing, I really don't think the reverse lights will look good mounted outboard (to much going on) so I'm going to start looking at some slim LEDs to hopefully mount underneath the valence. The 70 tail lights are a great idea but don't like the big white square in them so I'll just try to hide them altogether.

What about a small version of the LED light bars you see on pickup trucks now completely hidden behind the valance. They are stupid bright which should compensate for the location..... not sure how small they make them?

Rigid Industries LED Lighting make some nice light you could adapt
