Daylight Savings time tonight.

I'll have to remember to set the sundial in the garden.:D

So I did some research and it seems we have been going back and forth as far back as a hundred years. Then 50 or so years ago DST started for summers. I read where we had a trial period of year round DST back in 1974. I don’t recall that. Apparently it was hotly contested. Anybody remember that?

Essentially, arizona is on daylight saving time year round, they just don't call it that. Now that neighboring california is on daylight saving time we are the same time again. When california "falls back", we don't. So I'll have to guess what time it is again then.

Aren’t they on standard time year round. Been there a couple times and the first time I was there I found that out by arriving an hour too early and was so informed.

I said they don't CALL it that.....but that's what it is. If we are at the same time as California when THEY are on daylight saving, and then they fall back, and we don't, what do you figure it really is? After california "falls back", my house has an hour more afternoon daylight than california does, 10 miles away. Is that not the definition of "saving daylight"?

It was one of those "schemes" to conserve energy during the fake gas shortage. Like the 55 mph speed limit.

Staying light tell nearly 7:00pm PST now...

I wish we'd just stay on what it is now & leave it there

yeah I remember that "fake" **** too

from what I remember or "allegedly" also,
they came back, after the fact & said;
"so kids wouldn't stand at morning bus stops in the dark"

so they stand at them after school, in the dark instead
(especially if they do after school activities)

I think they should move the clocks ahead 2 hours in spring, then it would be daylight until close to 10 here in June!
I’m not a morning person and the sun burns my eyes when I’m starting out my day.
Heck, move the clocks ahead 3 hours in spring, that would be even better. :thumbsup:

Isn't the proposed legislation to stay on DST?

I wonder why it's not to stay on standard (non DST) time?
