I did get the DS door vent window and side glass in and the car is at the upholstery shop getting the headliner in as we speak. Hoping to have it back Friday so I can do a little interior work this weekend. Also go to get it in to the trans shop and the get an alignment too.

Got the car back from the upholstery shop today.

Can't seem to get this one trim rail up where it is supposed to be. Any tips?

Rear door weather barriers, door panels and seat back in. Thats as far as I got this weekend. Also put the stops on the side windows and adjusted them a bit to fit better.

Can't seem to get this one trim rail up where it is supposed to be. Any tips?

My car was doing the same. I was guessing that because of all of the re-manufactured parts that I used the trim pieces were now too long. I had to custom fit everything on the interior of my car. Nothing fit how I felt it was supposed to, including these trim parts. I ended up cutting about 1/2" of length off the back of the trim so that it would slide back far enough to clip in. That also helped it fit over my A-pillers better.

Full day today. Started with weather barriers and door panels. yesterday attempted to get the remote mirror in the upper door pad. That was a disaster end up gluing it in place but then the adjuster came out of the i don't know what it is called and then later you will see the glued piece didn't hold either so gonna have to go back to the drawing board on that one

Then sunvisors

Then moved on to rear seat belts, then rear carpet, then the rear seat and then the rest of the seat belts.

Then moved on to the front carpet

a few other things along the way include
1. replacing the voltage regulator but still have a discharge
2. securing the hood to cowl seal again
3. securing the A-pillar
4. found the hardware for the inner sail trim and installed that but didn't help much
5. the DS door linkage came off ( and then again right as i was closing up for the night)
6. installed the clip i got for the vacuum lines and secured those to the inner fender
7. brake pedal pad

I now have 2 different repro grills on back order...wonder which one will come first. A handful of other parts are on back order too but that is the most obvious towards completion. My replacement tail light bezel is supposed to be on the way too.

Gonna try to get to the trans shop this week and get that corrected then next week tidy up the remainder of the interior and then off to the paint shop again for cut buff and hood repaint.

Oh and a minor coolant leak has returned from the bypass hose (from the water pump to the t-stat housing ( at the pump only under load)) just gonna put a modern clamp on it and call it a day.

Had the same issue restoring the Coronet. All new seals and weatherstripping. Had to do a lot of trimming and adjusting and the drivers side door still isn't completely weatherproof. Car never sees the rain anyway...

You took a car apart and now you're putting all back together. It's a monumental task and you are nailing it! I love your thread because it brings me back to my Coronet resto. You're doing everything right so my only advice is not to get discouraged and keep plugging away.

you do have to find humor in the door handle worked fine for months but the day the weather barrier and door panel go on the linkage falls off twice.

Brian, Your doing a great job on your car and everything is looking good.
I had the same problem trying to hook up my adjustable mirror. The new upper door panel was too thick and the threaded adjuster was too short. I carefully pulled up the vinyl around the hole and removed the extra fill that was extruded under the vinyl then I carefully hammered the metal in so that it would be closer to the door frame when installed. I struggled for a while until I could get the threads to catch and pull everything together.
Whatever you do I know that you will make it work and look good, you always do.

Yeah i already tried that cutting the vinyl and padding away and still couldn't get it to catch. I hammered... i cursed, a LOT... i but the trim ring on backwards to get it to suck in closer and hopefully hold, it didn't. Finally I went to epoxy... that's when the adjuster fell out of the threaded section and then eventually the epoxy didn't stick and the "nut" fell off. Will take a week's break and go at it again next weekend.

Sometimes i find that just walking away, and coming back later with a fresh mind and attitude helps a lot. You may just look at it and the light bulb in your head will come on, and you’ll have it fixed in 10. It’s a beautiful car and you’re doing an excellent job. Nearly there.

Also picked up a new NOS blower motor to replace my non-functional one. arrived today... And bought a new low note horn again mine not working. Funny how stuff worded when it came off but not when it goes back...oh well...

Haven't got in to the tranny shop yet...next week I guess

Nice new wiper motor... interestingly when I turned it on, it now stays on all the time regardless of switch position and seemingly doesn't change speeds... so fan switch next?? Debugging ugh...

Not too much this weekend as a kids soccer tournament and kids birthday prevented all but a little time.

Cut the passenger side carpet and placed the kick panel in along with both sills.

Also reattached the door handle linkage and installed the tail light cover panel
