I was reading FBBO threads and having a hot cup of Joe when I suddenly realized the fly that kept buzzing my head and landing on my computer screen was dead in my coffee cup.

That reminded me of a song, as many things do. I searched for Carly Simon's song , You're So Vain for the part that said "Flies in my coffee, flies in my coffee" only to find out it was "Clouds in my coffee".

There are a lot of songs like that. For example, Manfred Mann's Blinded By The Light. I could have sworn it said "Wrapped up like a douche another runner in the night". Or the Eagles Hotel California "Warm smell of calitas". Anyway, while I was searching the lyrics I stumbled onto this web page.

What are some of your funny but wrong lyrics?

If the buzzing in your head is causing you some distress there is a song about "flies in the vasoline". Using that without due care could result in giving your partner a buzz (possibly) in a different spot than her head. If your partner's another guy well, we won't go there.

No-one will have anything on Bruce Springsteen, as none of his lyrics can be fathomed at all. Guy never moves his mouth at all....must be a ventriloquist.

When I was a kid, my mom misheard lyrics from The Eagles "Witchy Woman" and forbid me and my brothers from playing it. She thought part of the lyrics were "she will knock you in the nuts until your skin turns red". Once we made her realize the correct words, all was good.
