The "CUMMINS DIESEL" of dogs!! All about the torque, but once rolling, its about the "mass" in motion.I have several bunnies living in a landscaped area of the front yard. Every time the Newfoundlands run out the front door they try to chase them. Newfies are made for power, not speed. They never have a chance to catch them.
”The Guinness Book of Records” lists a Newfoundland as the strongest dog in the world–that one pulled 52 pounds per pound of body weight for a total of 5,045 1/2 pounds.

The pics are from late 2021, and she has definitely filled out some, but still strikes me as smaller than I expected her to be.If you can survive the first three years, they are amazing dogs. 45 pounds is the bottom end of the breed standard. 22-24 inches at the shoulder. She looks about right and she will fill out more as she matures.
