DOGS

the ones with long hair look bigger, and the gals are always much smaller

I committed to this little guy, but he is meeting some people tomorrow. I decided after seeing a video of him running an obstacle course. It was pretty cool. The lady used lawn fencing to create a tunnel and put all kinds of things like plastic sleds and stair steppers. Then seeing how he was focused on her and obviously eager to please, made me want him. We shall see. The white on his chest and toes is perfectly acceptable according to the breed standard

Edit:
What I saw was him run ahead until he got to a tall stairstepper. He hesitated, and then he turned around and noticed that she was still at the gate. He ran back, but then the lady was on her way and out ahead of him. He came bounding up, and when he got to the blue step trainer he hesitated just a little bit and jumped right up. They ran the rest of the course with wobbly and infirm things, turned around and back through them again. He pretty much jumped over the second to the last and tumbled over the first obstacle and crashed into the gate. They went out on a concrete porch and he trotted over to the edge, then he saw something in the field. He was standing there on point staring at something and she called him. His ears twitched. She called him again, and he spun around and ran right up to her. She had him heal and sit, but his ears and attention were still in that field. As she talks to him, the left ear stays focused on the field and the right ear twists around backwards to listen to her jabber.

This has two parts: I have a little pond with a waterfall thing in the backyard. I never got around to messing with it this year. It takes a lot of maintenance. We've had so much rain this year that it's full but the water is gross. Luckily we are too high in elevation for mosquitos.

Yesterday I was getting some car care products from the garage and I had the main door opened for a few minutes. I thought Little Bear would stay put for that short time. Nope, she came walking around the corner soaking wet from getting in the disgusting pond. You just can't keep Newfoundland dogs out of the water.

At the ranch we have a big pan we fill with water for them. They stand in the pan to drink from it.

keep a kiddie pool filled in between you and the stink pond.

My dream for one of the town's dog parks is a cement pond in a spot that gets the run-off from ball fields parking lots. A shallow concrete pool shaped to clean itself in a hard rain, easy to broom when it's dry, and a spigot to fill it with if there isn't rain. My boy loved his water too

You know the cane corso has always been one of my favorites, all my family is in Italy and two of my cousins have them... they say for protection but they are the sweetest dogs, not sure they would do anything but love a burglar.
I know they can be very protective, but what sweet dogs....
That is one beutiful dog you have...
A monster in disguise.

thanks.... he's loud, intimidating, smart, and the greatest watch dog ever............. but he cannot control his waggy tail, it's a dead giveaway...... we call him "The Wiggler", "Sir Wagsalot", and "Mr Waggypants"

he gentle with the ladies and kids, but loves to rough house with me.....

steel toe boots may be the only protection from what we call "corso foot"

Reminds me of a buddy of mine's Rottweiler he had a head on it did look like a bear, his name was Striker.... every time he saw me he used to crouch down because he knew we were about to fight. funny thing he's growling in the way he was acting you think he was tearing me apart but he was extremely gentle.... the only way we would finish the fight is if I laid down and he sat his *** on top of me that he knew he won.
God I miss that dog

Does Thor have battle scars from past run-ins with puddy cat?? Dad's shepard got clawed down snout from mom's cat back in 1981: He never sniffed her butt ever again, lesson learned.
Thor grew up in Elsa's space, so I think he respects her. Elsa was my old dogs best friend so I think she may have let him know how thing were going to be.

Back in az after a couple weeks in Cali. After several hours of happy gsd insanity, one of my boys decided to show me how much he missed me......
