DOGS

My deaf shepherd and I are back in california, so he can get fixed, and recover separated from the others. I would like to take him to a dog park, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't go well.
I am planning on going to see a friend who owns my mal that we had to give up. I want to see how Magnum interacts. He WILL be on a leash. He MIGHT come when I motion, but if he has a ball, he certainly won't!
Very strange thing, when I offered a ball to this 100% ball-driven dog when we got to Cali, he had ZERO interest. An absolute first!

Asleep on my lap, in two minutes. A stressful day, and car trip.
Hope he feels better tomorrow.

Lost our little girl a month ago and the house still feels empty. The wife and I have our moments, but it helps to remember all 15 years of good times. View attachment 1614244
She was gorgeous, sir. Sorry for your loss. 15 years for a large breed is a very good run.
Lots of good dogs needing a good forever home. Just a thought. NOT a replacement, an addition.....

Bigger by the day!!!

We do have a lot of good members, that are dog lovers here,
' we all have'
Or have a soft spot for animals & me especially dogs,
but, we all have big hearts,
& it makes me feel good about the people I post with here...

Compassionate & caring people of all types
caring for all the creatures in our life, like family

Thank you sir
You have a big heart, don't ever change, it fits you well!!

Well said.

Our girl [Mishka] went in to have a cancerous tumor removed from her right-front leg. Surgery was successful, but the prognosis is upcoming. She's behaving like normal, even though she has a ghastly incision on that leg.

Definitely nothing more painful in our home. Deepest sympathies from our home of rescued Huskies.
Fill that spot with a resumed fuzzy-kid. No dog ever "replaces" a lost one. But millions of perfectly good animals are destroyed, yearly....due to stupid human syndrome.

Rare pic of my boy Magnum with one ear up. That's all I've ever seen, one ear. He can't hear anything, never needed or learned to put em up.

I am very fond of Magnum. I love shepherds. He always appears to be a snuggle bum, much like my boy KC was.

Today is the first anniversary of Buddy’s passing. The 2nd of 3 dogs that passed last year. KC was the first in January. Then Buddy, and Tilly in June. I will forever hate 2023.

Sorry for your losses, Trooper. Glad you've got Lilly.
Since Mags and I left the others in AZ to come to Cali, I don't think he has been more than fifteen feet away, and is at this moment sleeping off breakfast on my lap.
We arranged a play date for Mag and Sheela, my former Malinois that makes me think of Lilly. Should be fun.

Lilly and Boomer are thriving! They are very good dogs. Training has taken longer with them, but they are the first dogs we have had in almost 40 years that didn’t have the benefit of an adult dog to learn from. Regardless of that they are doing very good and they make me happy.

The two Vets in the show both feed it to their brood. They don't mention it by brand but you can easily see the packaging.
ALWAYS a good indicator, when dealing with a knowledgeable, successful professional:
"Don't tell me what you recommend, tell me what YOU use". Then use that, unless it's a specific thing for a specific purpose that doesn't apply to your situation.
