Handsome one! What a dog.

Thor on point, the 3rd point of the afternoon. Three roosters and on hen. Supposed to be cooler on Saturday so maybe me and Thor can shoot a rooster for Sunday dinner.
He couldn’t wait for the bucket, had to drink right out of the faucet.

Took my new girl for a jog this morning. I'm old, so my "jog" Is pretty much a fast walk, so she had NO trouble keeping up (as if that would be a surprise.) Turns out, she runs kinda like a rabbit, front legs stride like normal rear legs hop together. When she slows down, a much more normal limping gait. (She has no ankle anymore on the left rear.)
She was well trained on a leash, by somebody. Several walks, hasn't pulled on the leash yet, slack at all times, heels without being told. My new three and a half legged keeper. Vet visit tomorrow.

All.went well at the vet, but we do have another appointment for Sunday, for blood tests and x-rays. Her open wound on her bad leg has her stainless plate open to atmosphere. I'm going to do my best to save that leg, it's been bad for A LONG time, and she's dealt with it. Vet put her on heavy antibiotics.
For a dog that was reported to me as a dog that didn't like ANYBODY...... she is an absolute sweetheart, that all the vet staff adored. She could not have been better behaved.
Went for a jog this morning after breakfast, now she's sleeping it off, lol.

It’s funny how people’s perceptions of dogs can vary, sometimes with tragic consequences. Like your dog, Cora was branded as aggressive and pretty much looking at getting euthanized. Yet she genuinely is a sweet dog who absolutely adores people in general and kids in particular.

Agree. Maybe she just didn't like the humans around her at the previous owner. Walking out of the exam room at the vet, she ran across two young girls, maybe six and eight. They weren't afraid of her at all, and she gave both a kiss. Hates humans indeed. I've never seen a sweeter dog.
Yours was ready to be euthanized, mine was dumped on a busy street. (I believe).

Waiting to go to the field. We put up 5 pheasants today. He is getting anxious for me to start shooting some!!

Took Cora for our usual walk this afternoon. We go about two miles out of town so that I can off leash her and let her run. We have about five different spots that we frequent, and we walk a mile or two each time.
Out by our daughter’s acreage is the road to the gun range. It is about a mile long, and perfect for our purpose as it has a locked gate. Now that winter is here nobody uses the range anymore.
There are wolves that hang around town, they lurk on the outskirts and grab the occasional dog. Foxes come right into town for cats and small dogs.
Anyway, frequently we will come across fresh wolf tracks and poop. Cora generally doesn’t show much interest in these signs other then perhaps giving it a sniff as we pass by. A few times, though, including today she would abruptly stop and refuse to take another step. Like refuse totally and completely.
The last two trips, including today, there has been a single wolf track, the largest I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot. This thing must be huge, and he must be very close if my dog refuses to go closer.
So I may put some effort into getting this one. My daughter and her neighbours are a few hundred yards away and they all have cats and dogs that need to be safe. My daughter needs to be safe.
I used to call coyotes back in the day using a rabbit squealer. I still have it. I think I will dig it out and dust off my 22 Hornet or 222 Remington and see if I can’t bag a big wolf before it gets too cold to sit out there calling.
