Neighbor with the 70 RR seems to think his car has factory tubs. Was there such a thing? His rear wheel wells don't seem any larger than mine on my 69....WTF?

LMAO that's what I thought chevy guy now with a mopar, what a shame lol

Hes not used to big tires fitting in the wheel wells ive seen n50 s tucked under a 69 bee you cant do that with a lot of chevys,

could you imagine that car rolling down the assembly line!hold on,this one goes to the "race car"line!

did you tell him, "welcome to the dark side", hopefully he doesn't think he can get stuff dirt cheap, like all the Chevy stuff is, for his newly aquired MoPar... at least he's in a MoPar now.... tell him you can fit up-to about 13"wide x 30"tall rear tires {Overall size not tire size}, in a 68-69 B-Body some 70's too, with out any tubs, with the correct Back Spacing, on the wheels...

That's funny, had to mini tub my 68 roadrunner to get 12.5W's into it....and have it sit at a decent ride height.

very cool car Cranky, yeah the old 12.5 W's are allot wider, the tread is 12.5" only {they're more like a 14.5" plus wide/girth or more depending on rims width used}, than an overall 13"'s of total girth/width, like in a 10" or 11" wide tread X 29" or 30" tall/diameter tires/slicks/drag radials on a 8"-9"-10" wide rim, with a 5"-5.5"or even 6" back spacing, if you move the leaf springs inboard, or go to coil overs & a ladderbar or 4 link, with stock tubs, you can run probably 11" & 12" wide treads & 11" wide rims... maybe I should have been more specific...LOL...

For the overly **** people like me out there, the cars ride height & rim width will also make different specific needs, for specific tires, a little massaging of the "outer wheel lip", you also can roll them under or trim them down helps allot for bigger tire clearances also... anyway a 1968-69's & some 70's B-Bodies can & will handel allot of tire stock, either way...
